Hi I’m features editor at the Sunderland fanzine A love Supreme and its website www.a-love-supreme.comWe are doing a feature previewing all the teams in League One next season and was wondering if you could answer the following questions please? Thanks in advance What was the story of your season last year? Highs and lows… Who’s your best player, ones to watch etc? How do you think you’ll do against us next season? How will you do overall next season?

Hi I’m features editor at the Sunderland fanzine A love Supreme and its website www.a-love-supreme.comWe are doing a feature previewing all the teams in League One next season and was wondering if you could answer the following questions please? Thanks in advance What was the story of your season last year? Highs and lows… High: I'd probably say Jonson Clarke-Harris goal against Plymouth. Not only was it League 1 goal of the month, against a local(ish) rival, but it was possibly the critical point of a game that was a turning point that gave us belief that we would stay up. Low:The end of the Darrel Clarke era. Having been saddled with a sinking ship in 2014, DC's job in turning the team and the club around was nothing short of miraculous. He ditched the wasters and instilled the belief that won two promotions. Last season things had gone stale for Darrell and it was sad, but necessary to let him go as we would not have survived otherwise. Who’s your best player, ones to watch etc? The obvious answer would be Jonson Clarke-Harris, but as the transfer window is still open, I'd say Stephan Payne.....yes...P.A.Y.N.E. If you are looking for that powerful striker up at the Stadium of Light, I am sure a mere quarter of a million could secure our...ahem...best player. How do you think you’ll do against us next season? We seem to have developed an inferiority complex against 'bigger' clubs, but the signs are that we will be a bit more robust next season, physically, if not mentally. Perhaps, we'll manage a draw, or even a repeat of 24th February 1988How will you do overall next season? Better than this season, but I'm not willing to say much more until we see the first 10 games.I'd also try Gaschat Daniel gaschat.co.uk . Most of the old barstewards on here are taking an afternoon nap, or are sunning themselves in their Caribbean summer retreats.

A season of 2 halves...heading for relegation for the first half (under Darrell Clarke), big upturn in points gained second half of the season (under Graham Coughlin)... That said the low for me was Darrell leaving/ getting the sack...to treat a special guy who had given us so much and rescued us from our lowest point was unforgivable...he probably saved us from National league south as the club was toxic and self distructing following relegation from League 2. Personally I'd have stuck with him even if we had of got relegated last season. The high was Stefan Payne being so awful (stick with me here)...him being so awful, uninterested and having a terrible attitude forced the club to look elsewhere in January (and getting in Jonson Clarke-Harris, whose goals kept us up). If Payne had just been ok, ran around a bit and scored 1 in 4 or 5, we'd have stuck with him and not brought in Clarke-Harris and got relegated... Best players for me are also the ones to watch next season, our full backs ...Little and Holmes-Dennis...plenty of pace and decent crossers...the modern day full back is effectively a wing back and provide alot of the attacking threat and these 2 will do just that... Probably 2 plucky defeats against SunderLAND (as Graham Coughlin refers to your club...in the style of ROLAND ala Grange Hill as that girl used to call him)... We'll be on the wrong end of a ref/linesman's decision and give us something to have a whinge about down the pub. I start every season predicting we'll win every game not concede a goal...I usually refine that prediction on the way home from the first game... If we hold onto JCH all season and we bring in a decent striker for the start of the season we'll be top half...if not then bottom half but not in too much danger of relegation... Cheers Daniel... Top fanzine btw
