He was very good for us last season, played a big part in keeping us up. Closer to home and the fact that he knew how bad a team we have probably swung it in their favour. Good luck jack.

What a joke we are becoming. Obviously the club released the news of little signing to try and soften the blow. The picture of little with a scarf at the mem with sand in the background was taken weeks ago. The club must think we're f**kin stupid.

Soften the blow? - he wasn't our player, he was going to move clubs, had options obviously and may have had a better overall offer including lifestyle - he might prefer the East than the West, some people do.

Was never going to be signed, he was a Clarke signing and Coughlan wouldn't want that.

Have you ever been to Gillingham? It makes Swindon look like a pleasure resort. Or do you mean he's going to commute to Kent from Ho Chi Minh City?

Was never going to be signed, he was a Clarke signing and Coughlan wouldn't want that. That was my interpretation too - wants his own players in. I am not a Coughlan fan - I thought we looked a mess in most of the games I saw under him but he got the results and to be fair so far he appears to have done a fairly decent job on recruitment. Little looks another good signing on paper. So he does seem to be fishing in a different player pool to DC and that may be his main asset to us. Of course our past of past record of signing players with good 'pedigree' to 2/3 year deals has not been particularly impressive....But if you were inclined to optimism (not in massive supply here I admit) then you could probably hope, based on evidence so far, that he has a remit to bring in higher quality players.
On the other hand I could just be guilty of this - 'If nothing else works, a total pig-headed unwillingness to look facts in the face will see us through.' - General Melchett, Blackadder.

He lives in Stevenage, not a million miles from Gillingham, and he wasn't our player

Not sure what picture you're thinking of, but it looks like "baby grass" to me - exactly what should be the case yesterday! Still, why waste an opportunity for some negativity...

OK, let's check the lists of favourite places to live and see how many times Gillingham gets a mention. It's a total dump with nothing whatsoever going on. Just Googled 'Interesting facts about Gillingham', it was fascinating, did you know as recently as 1951 there was a terrible bus crash there? It's quite possibly the most boring, lifeless Town in Britain.

It seems to me that we are losing all of our players who have shown a modicum of ability and retaining a group of very average players, if Coughlan keeps us up this season he should be given a manager of the year award.

I think you will find all the players Clarke signed don't want to play for coughlan. Not the other way round.

Not a single non-working score board, broken drain downpipe or tent in sight.

Frank Fielding released by Bristol City would be a fantastic goalkeeper for us. Listened to his interview on Having A gas recently and he intends playing for several more seasons and would relish a challenge.
