I think that this could be an interesting summer, surely GC (if he stays) will want to bring in some new faces ? will he be given any money ? will the squad change that much ? I thought that there needed to be 5 or 6 signings before hearing about Lockyer and Lines going. I really wonder what the future holds for Rovers,I will be hoping for the best but preparing for the worst as I always do.

Lines is the only forward-thinking midfielder on the books. He always goes for the best attacking option, a throw-back to when we set up to win and not only to contain - especially at home. I'm dreading next season as much as I've dreaded every game this season because I can't see the "style" changing much under GC.

Definitely an interesting summer awaits and I'm sure GC will want to bring in new faces. Pretty damn sure the purse strings will be very tight. Rumours that Sercs is off as well as Lines? That leaves zero creativity in midfield. It also leaves zero pace, and obviously no width. A major re-build is required. UTG.

I cannot see where attacking football can come from. Can’t have another season of home results like this seasons. I think I heard Keith Brookman say the Barnsley result stopped it from being the worst points return from home games ever. Might’ve misheard but crazy if true.

No money one out one in. Don't think we have much in the way of players worth much. Doesn't really matter if the gaffer picks players for their attitude rather than their ability. Attitude will only get you so far.

Chris Lines was not our only attack minded midfielder. How many goals did Ollie score? Plus Ollie gets stuck in a far more alrounded player. Players good when we have the ball and don't this will win us more points over a season.

I suppose that if GC is going to tell players what his plans are then he must already know his playing budget. As the season was a relegation fight and Lockyer and Lines have already gone and the loans have returned to their clubs Rovers squad definitely needs strengthening.

Chris Lines was not our only attack minded midfielder. How many goals did Ollie score? Ollie scored from goalscoring opportunities. Lines created goalscoring opportunities. So Ollie contributes more to attack. But Lines contributes more creativity. Maybe.

Looking at the retained list and the minimum amount of new players would be Goalkeeper Central defender Winger Right back or two depending on whether Clarke and/or Partington sign.

The EFL has today confirmed the deadlines for the 2019 summer transfer window following the recent decision to adopt a split approach for Clubs in the Championship, and those in League One and League Two.
The deadline for Championship Clubs for all incoming permanent and loan registrations will close at 5pm on Thursday 8 August, 2019. League One and League Two Clubs will have until 5pm on Monday 2 September, 2019, due to August 31 falling on a Saturday. Today’s confirmation follows a consultation process with Clubs, who voted their preference prior to a formal vote at last week’s Extraordinary General Meeting.
