Early start to the Matchday thread for purely selfish reasons.
Currently en route back to Old Blighty and arrive at Heathrow at 4:40pm on Saturday afternoon. This thread will be my first port of call as soon as I get back onto tinternet.
Please, please can we get the point I think will ensure survival.
I really don't want to be in Bristol if we are relegated. The thought of fronting up to all those pi$$ taking $hitheads just doesn't bear thinking about

We never get anything there. They get in your face like B***** used to. The only player that would relish that now plays for Swindon.

With Joey B still in charge and really fired up after the reverse fixture at the Mem don't bet on it ….like he used to. We are not good at parking the bus but time for Tom N to step up to the plate and finally score again !

We've had a bloody poor game Monday & recently lost to two of the top sides in the league. Haven't done badly otherwise.

Safe journey, jeffnz. Safe journey everyone travelling to Fleetwood.
I think by 5pm we will be celebrating (if that's the accurate word) league 1 status. That's my prediction.
I just can't see Scunthorpe, Wimbledon, Southend and Plymouth all picking up points. If at least two of those lose, we're safe whatever we do at Fleetwood.
It will be interesting to see if he drops anyone with allocation of blame to such a poor team and individual performance v Rochdale.... personally I think he sets it up so defensive and tight, we don't plan anything or play with freedom....but hey, GC has kept us up as we were surely doomed under DC, but anyway, we'll see.
Deon Moore and Luke Russe please.
Prediction: Gas to lose 2-0. Most drunk as a skunk Safe for another year. Party on...

I confidently predict the following. Strong winds and rain. I also predict a defensive set up offering no width, creativity or pace. Unless J C-H can take them on single-handed and score another worldie, a loss. I have a feeling we will not be mathematically safe by 5pm. Safe journey to all those travelling. UTG.

It’s tight for us to be safe today.
My math is both Plymouth and scunny can’t go passed us so I am ignoring their games. If Wimbledon get the win and Southend a draw at Rochdale, we are far from mathematically safe going into the Barnsley game. A Southend win at Rochdale will be a very bad result for us, as a draw in their last home game puts them beyond us, and brings four points from Plymouth to go beyond us back into play too.
A draw for wombles and loss for Southend doesn’t technically make us safe but in terms of gd we can party like it is.
All this is on basis we won’t scrape another win or even a point.

Playing with one striker so looks like we'll settle for a 0-0. which should keep us up.Pleased Nichols doesn't start and the jury is out on Upson even though he does start.Just wish we had more overall quality in the squad as we shouldn't be attempting to 'Limp' over the line as it isn't good for my blood pressure!!

For all you interested out there:
Looks like a 4-5-1 start with JC left back, THD pushed into a 5 man mid....(?)
Hmmmm:
Rovers make two changes to face Fleetwood Town in today's Sky Bet League One encounter.
Abu Ogogo returns to the starting XI, as does Joe Partington for the game at Highbury, as Alex Rodman and Tom Nichols missing out.
Here's how both sides line up.
Rovers XI: Jack Bonham, James Clarke, Tom Lockyer (C), Tony Craig, Joe Partington, Tareiq Holmes-Dennis, Liam Sercombe, Ed Upson, Ollie Clarke, Abu Ogogo, Jonson Clarke-Harris.
Subs: Adam Smith, Tom Nichols, Alex Jakubiak, Gavin Reilly, Stuart Sinclair, Stuart Sinclair, Alfie Kilgour, Alex Rodman.
Fleetwood Town: Alex Cairnes (GK), Lewie Coyle Eddie Clarke, Ashley Eastham, Wes Burns, Ched Evans (C), Ashley Hunter, Ross Wallace, Ashley Nadesan, James Husband, Harrison Biggins.
Subs: Paul Jones, Paddy Madden, Jack Sowerby, Barry Baggley, James Hill, Ryan Rydel, Daniel Mooney.

Ed Upson somehow starts, yet Chrissy Lines isn't in the squad.
Cheers Graham. Next season is going to be even more dire, isn't it?

My guess is a 5 3 2 wb partington rather than Clarke 1 up top but sercs playing off him somewhere so nominally 5 3 2 on paper Come on Rochdale!

If that gets a point fair enough. I think the line up is a negative mistake. Happy to accept if it goes our way
