Simple-
Bradford couldn't get anywhere near us.
Walsall can only get 52 if they win all their games
Wimbledon can only get 54 if they win all games
Southend can only get 53 if they win all games
Rochdale then could only get 54 if they won their remaining 2 games but play Southend
Wycombe can only get 56 if they win all 3 games but have to play Wimbledon
Ok based on that Southend could mathematically turn around a 11 goal difference with us losing the last two games and them winning both but they play Rochdale and based on any result in that game - If Rochdale win then Southend could only get 50 points so couldn't catch us. A draw would mean both Rochdale and Southend couldn't get to 53 points and if Southend won then Rochdale could only get a maximum of 51.
Based on that game BRADFORD, WALSALL and SOUTHEND OR ROCHDALE would all be below us leaving one place
Wycombe v Wimbledon If Wycombe win then Wimbledon could only get 51.If they draw then Wimbledon could only get 52 and if Wimbledon won then Wycombe could only get 53 so I suppose that mathematically it would be possible for them to catch up a minus 10 or 11 Goal difference but then if you throw Scunthorpe in the mix they can only get 53 if they won all 3 but there is no way in the world that they could turn around a 24 goal deficit.
Based on those games then BRADFORD,WALSALL, SOUTHEND or ROCHDALE ,WIMBLEDON or SCUNTHORPE would be below us and you could still throw ACCRINGTON,PLYMOUTH,SHREWSBURY and WYCOMBE into the mix!!!
So lets get behind the boys tomorrow and make sure we get the three points because although a defeat for us tomorrow would be unlikely to relegate us we do not want another Mansfield at the last game!

Shame, Fleetwood; Wycombe and Oxford can't be relegated....the @rsehole players/management conduct have been atrocious this season.
I quite like Wimbledon. Inoffensive. I quite like Bradford. They can't even buy a win in Bristol when we play them! I quite like Rochdale. Lush Cemetery. I quite dislike Walsall but it's close and we beat their pants off this season away.
But 3 points is what's important.
Overall, a very disappointing season. Just glad we are where we are thanks to GC and his team.

There have been some highlights but in fairness the loss of Ellis and Rory in such quick succession without adequate replacements always meant we would be on the back foot. The fight back from relegation certainties has been astonishing if not frustrating at times as GC has had to put results before performance. The arrival of JCH and the goals he has produced has been the catalyst to our being pretty much safe even with a draw tomorrow. Going forward if GC can recruit more players that can bring an impact we will be in a very healthy position.

Wasn't it Walsall players who were running around the corridors, shouting, chanting, banging on the changing room doors, and generally showing a lack of class, after they got an injury time winner at The Mem, earlier in the season?

I got a bit confused taking in all that OP (maths was never my strong point) but are you saying- despite the headline- that we actually WON'T be mathematically safe as Scunthorpe could theoretically catch us?

When you look at the games the others have to play we probably have enough points already and if we get 3 today we could well finish 13th

Reading between the lines i think what steve is saying is if we lose or draw today its squeaky bum time for the final two matches. Rochdale is our best chance of 3 points and certain safety.

Walsall can't overtake us now and with Plymouth playing Scunthorpe on the final day at least one of them will finish below us

For us, providing we don't have two spankings on the GD: Bradford and Walsall done.
Dons need 2 wins out of Luton A, Wycombe H and Bradford A Scunthorpe 2 wins Bradford H and Plymouth A Plymouth need 4 points and have that home game v Scunthorpe and Accys A Southend need 4 points from Dale A and Sunderland at H

Rather ironically could it be GD that keeps us up?
