Following the form where we were put to the sword by a team Luton put to the sword, then it it doesn't bode well for us today. The bookies agree with Rovers around 3-1 to win and Luton less than even money. TBH my expectations of a Rovers win are also low and would happily take a point but this is football so anything could happen. 1-1 UTG

Can’t see us winning. Would be very happy with a point.

What a lush day to get down the Mem.. The place is buzzing already.
Sun out, beers are going down a treat, spot of Premier football as a starter to the main course.... what could possibly go wrong?!
Er, Nick Owen's lot spoiling the party. Or Joe Payne's lot, if you prefer. Really think this will be tough, but..
Optimism reigns.... I'll say: 1-1. 8900. Sun tan for everyone in East side.
COME ON YOU BLUES, UptheGas!

4-4-2. Undroppable Ollie, Sercs, Ogogo, Upson in the diamond (or more like cubic zirconia). Goal machine and Katerina up front. I'm not optimistic and think we'll lose by a couple. Would be very happy to be proved wrong. UTG.

One nil down. We were attacking all of the previous yet a simple cross to a totally unmarked player did it. I fear a mauling

Two down now. We are NOT very good. At least it is 2-1 now. Maybe a better second half?....

HT 1-2. Luton shots 7 (3 on target). Gas shots 1. (1 on target). K J-T obviously. Positives. We have a jolly good badge and not one designed by a 5yr old that gets the established date of the Club wrong by 88 years. And after reading the other place... the bird looks much more like the north American robin, Turdus Migratorius.

We have a jolly good badge... No, the quarters are the wrong way round. Otherwise, I agree. A whole season of Katerina would be lovely.

Apart from our goal, which was superb, and the first 10 mins where our midfield pushed up, that was painful. The most worrying bit was that the old Tom Nichols has returned, he looked like he didn't want to be out there. Nice to see our bone headed morons in their 50s, with their shaven heads can't even allow away supporters to enjoy their victory on the way out of the ground. Hopefully we have CCTV so that we can identify and ban them

Just got back..
Ok, what a lush day seeing friends, esp family with gas kids and hatters dad....fun atmosphere at the mem today with a sunny day..
First goal, not sure offside (?) I saw us struggle on the flanks all day. Kelly struggled....ball gets squared to JC who easily pops it in..... Bonham committed to the squared pass but didn't get there. Not saying his mistake, just... ?
Second goal, shot blocked deflected to anywhere, no, to them to a player whom hardly has to break step to slot it in. Just the difference between them and us.
We were never good enough today. Beaten well, but at least we tried to compete. Well done Luton.
A few things bothered me. Sercombe form. It can't just be his position, a few passes were lazy or poor, his positioning and dribbling poor. Shadow.
GC lack of reaction to change things when there's obviously a problem. On the flanks we were lacking. Too narrow. No outlet. You can argue we didn't have the staff on the bench to make things wider, but who selected the squad?
TN is back to his impotent self. For me he tried hard, (ok, great) but again lent no support to JCH. Link play, forming partnership, I don't know what he offers. Today wasn't his game, but he wasn't subbed until well into second half..
JCH still looks the biz.... he's pretty much single handedly keeping us up.
Next 4 so important. Don't lose to Rochdale, Wimbledon or Bradford and I think we'll be ok. It's going to be close, but I think we'll be saved by everyone else messing up...
One bright light ..

Always said the managers insistence on playing Nichols would probably get us relagated. Under the old gaffer, and now it seems under the new one. He's more worried about his hair. He hasn't got a clue whether to shoot or pass. A scapegoat too f**king right !

Assuming you don't need to know about Tom putting in a dreadful performance or not getting the midfield shape correct so that Ogogo was exposed for pace at least 6 times during the game. Group of maybe 10 young blokes singing a childish song on their way out, no swearing and nothing threatening, then Mr Arsey who probably thought he was a bit tasty in 1979 decides to wade in to 'sort them out'. By the Trubshaw Close entrance. You've seen him and his mates, no necks, big bellies, melon smugglers in Bomber jackets. They embarrass themselves and our club. You would think that after 50 years of it they would have cottoned on, sometimes you lose games of football. Doubt that any Hatters will find this forum, but just in case, I'm sorry and embarrassed on behalf of the club. Enjoy your promotion and good luck in the 2nd division. Hopefully 1982 will still be there and you can take 6 points off of them.

A scapegoat is blamed for the sins of others, crimes in which he was never involved himself. To call TN a scapegoat is to suggest that he is taking the blame for other people's offences. Is this what you're saying, Kegan? Is it?

I heard a sunglasses fella outside East terrace shouting to some Gas at end of march, I'm assuming he got the service he was looking for. I'm not condoning it, but you do take your chances singing at an away match outside the ground, that's just the way it has been for years. It's just not very street wise as some think that is taking liberties on their patch bla bla bla....well as you say, embarrassing.

We tried hard. Luton are a very good side. We have zero fit players who are comfortable attacking down the flanks. We are in big trouble imo.
