My father in law is a foreigner but loves English football. Liverpool fan.
I keep telling him about the Gas and he has seemed non interested.
Today I told him I am taking him on Saturday. He responded via google translate with “but they are a second rate team”
He’s got our number alright!
He seemed more bouyed when I explained we get 8000 at home, and he finalised with “they aren’t good but they are still my favourite”
It’s funny but even so, calling us second rate still cuts to my core.
Considering divorce.
Let’s hope we can at least win on Saturday and give him a good impression.

Tell him it will be nicer than Anfield, the Shrews' coach will get in and out again without being attacked, that's got to be a good thing, hasn't it?

Having been at West Ham - Liverpool last night and paid over £60 for a ticket with a view that was kind of equivalent to watching a game at the Mem from the Welly pub, I've got no doubt as to where I'd rather spend my Saturdays. I did have a long chat with a Hammers fan who'd been at Uni in Bristol during the Cureton - Roberts years and he said he'd never forgotten how good an atmosphere the Blackthorn generated, and that we were still his second favourite team. My experience of taking mates to the Gas is that they always go away with a warm feeling towards us, and I'm sure your father-in-law will feel the same way once Ollie puts his first tackle in. If not then I do know a good divorce lawyer. Oh and by the way, Liverpool were fairly 'second-rate' last night in my opinion.

I don't know - I think 'second' rate might be quite a flattering description of Rovers to be honest.

Bloody foreigners that's the exact reason I voted BREXIT ...Leave means leave and lets stop these foreigners coming to UK especially the Mem unless they are buying the club for £50m and building us a super new training ground.

I voted brexit so my wife could live with me for less than the £9,000 the government want off us over the next 6 years, whereas she could be a European former sex offender and come here for nothing at all! She had already paid £40,000 in uni fees (if she was European then it’s the same cost for us, less than half that) She isn’t European enough unfortunately. This is why a lot of people want out, even up the playing field for all the worlds talent not just Europeans, take the best from everywhere. Perhaps we’d get more doctors and less cafe staff and cleaners! Leave means leave. Roll on WTO!
