I have a feeling whatever we think as GasHeads having never met JCH, never really caught our eye, can't remember him in opposition matches and is a relatively anonymous kind of striker, we are naturally very underwhelmed.
I actually think GC wanted him because JGH means opposite to him, than he is to us.
GC has to be given the funds and faith to play his trade. He surely has to be given a chance?
I know it's no perfect choice, timing, scenario or situation to be in, but GC seems very content (yes he would say that wouldn't he?) and although we don't have it, he has to be given time to see if this works for us.
So I remain positive and hopeful. But then again, that's my default position anyway. As ever, in GC we trust . . .

It's yet another fingers crossed striker. We have had enough of those recently of which none have worked. We are second from bottom we no longer have the time to wait for yet another striker to come good. Having said that it was what I expected. When decent money had to be spent on a proven goalscorer the owners have buried there heads in the sand yet again. What striker did you expect us to buy and how much should we have splashed out. We're in the bottom 4 of League 1 so can't imagine there are too many choices out there (although I could be wrong).

He surely ought to know what he is getting.

nearly went for a fee to Portsmouth or Sunderland according to Mark Robbins......
"" Out-going Coventry City striker Jonson Clarke-Harris started transfer deadline day wanted by two of the top sides in the division and ended up at the second worst team in League One.
Sky Blues boss Mark Robins revealed the 24-year-old had interest from automatic promotion chasing Portsmouth and Sunderland, as well as play-off hopefuls Fleetwood Town.
But on a remarkable day of events, City went from possibly getting a fee for the centre-forward to simply getting him off the wage bill.
Asked if there was any other interest, Robins said: “There was Fleetwood, there was Sunderland and there was Portsmouth early on.
“I have no idea what happened. I was told Portsmouth and Sunderland were going to make a bid so then you think what that will look like, and can we do something ourselves off the back of it. But we have had limited time to do it. But it just came at the end of play that Tommy Widdrington (City’s former head of recruitment) rang Dave Boddy and expressed Bristol Rovers’ interest and that was done in a short space of time. “Jonno was in Rotherham and drove down and got the paper work done at quarter to eleven last night, so it was a close one. “Yesterday morning he wasn’t going anywhere. It just unfolded over the day.”
Robins revealed that Clarke-Harris has earned himself a lucrative deal at the Memorial Stadium that sets him up in life.
“I couldn’t stand in Jonno’s way either because of the contract that he’s earned, which is outstanding for him and allows him to develop his life off the field as well,” he said. “It’s a deal that sets him up. “The players that have gone haven’t been in the team of late and it just became clear that they would need to play and the window presented us with opportunities to move on and we’re left with the players that we have.” Abu Ogogo has also signed for the Gas, joining earlier in the day after cancelling his City contract by mutual consent and joining on a free, just seven months after signing on a free in the summer from Shrewsbury Town.
Explaining what had gone wrong for Ogogo, Robins said: “He’s a great lad and just got his head down and worked but just the way the team is evolving means we couldn’t get him in.
“He has gone off to Bristol Rovers with Jonno where they will try to further their careers.”

With that in mind would JCH have been as high as option D or E on your shortlist for this transfer window? Will grigg to sunderland £4m,,cant cut it in the championship. Christian doidge to bolton £1m[fell through in january]. Brett pitman would cost at least £500k plus very high wages. Tom eaves running down his contract to choose the best offer. Just examples of players we simply have no chance of signing. I dont think clarke-harris was our first choice but how many clubs and who were the clubs going for whoever that was? My shortlist dosnt exist because i only see league one players when we play at home and as i said clarke-harris looked decent when we played coventry. Point is we cant sign the best so were hoping we have signed the best of the rest in clarke-harris and ogogo.

There was a game against Fulham where we had two Taylors and Two Jones And Fulham had at least one Taylor and one Jones.
Is that in a book somewhere?

And it's definitely not Katarina Johnson-Thomson? Welcome to the Club Johnson. Let's give him 100% backing from the Gas. We will need his goals to stay up. (The only other person I have heard of called Johnson is in Peep Show). Stay UTG. Our new striker done great in the Europeans tonite eg
