Reilly should’ve had a hat trick. Gas in total control up until 39 minutes. Bonham should’ve done better for Southend goal. All per radbris that's about the same as the Radio Essex half-time summary

got to be happy with the 4 points this week
and some very good performance. But not all the time - we're a bit on/off by the sound of it

Bring on the Shrews and Payne. Rodman and Ogogo will enjoy that one.

... my bet is we win 1-2. Hope you had a few bob on that bt. Great result but can we start to pull away from this relegation dogfight please? Those last 10 mins were nerve racking and I really don't want to be put through that in the remaking games of the season.

We won?! Oh bloody brilliant. I was only following the game by refreshing this thread as was doing odd jobs around the house and assumed it was 2-2 thanks to Kegen's misleading post halfway - that's made my day! Get in there!

We bossed it first half until Bonham spilled a shot and Cox tapped it in. They came out of the blocks second half but we contained them and gradually took control and could/should have won by a bigger margin come the end. Keith Brookman called Agogo a midfield anchor, and that he was. He won the ball and played the right pass nearly every time. His positioning was good and he read the game very well. I liked the look of Clarke-Harris, a proper box player that we've been lacking, tall and calm on the ball. He knitted well with Jakubiak when he came on and Jak caused all sorts of problems, leaving his markers standing a couple of times with his neat turn and flick of the ball. Showed a bit of pace too. These two look promising together. Nichols is now the provider and played some neat through balls. Reilly had his customary good game and could have had a hat trick but took his goal well, slotting it past the goalie after clear run from 40-50 yards. Carry on like this and we'll soon be clear of the bottom 4.

I didn't think the last 10 minutes was nerve-wracking... thought we were always more likely to score on the break. Brief player scores and comment as follows: Bonham: 5. Cost us 1 goal and would have been 2 but for an off-side. 2 poor parries. THD: 5. Lost the ball that led to the shot that Sarfend scored from. Did not look very comfortable. Craig: 6.5. No nonsense. Locks: 6. Solid enough, but awful distribution. Parts: 5. A lot of dangerous attacks down his flank and I thought he looked shakey. Sercs: 7. Good game from him. Ogogo: 8. MOTM. We have a fighter. Good enough to paper over the numerous mistakes O Clarke made O Clarke: 4. Stinker. Rodman: 6. Some good runs. Some awful wasted possession. Powder pouf in the tackle. Nichols: 6. OK - 2 assists. Well played Tom for that. Otherwise - very little positive to say for the remainder of the time. Time and time again the wrong decision, or plays a ball that no-one else is looking for. Ballooned one over the bar when it had to be easier to score. He still hasn't scored a league goal in open play for over 15 months. "Maybe" there is a role for him in midfield alongside Ogogo. He is not a striker though. He never has been, and never will be. Reilly: 6.5 Could have had a hat-trick. At least he will be able to tell Nichols what it's like to score from open play. Subs Katerina Johnson-Thompson: 7. A real handful. Like the look of him. Silly booking though. Jakubiak: 6.5. Looked hungry and with KJT could form a formidable front 2. Reilly/Nichols is just too lightweight for my liking. An excellent 3 points. I think we'll stay up. Much more desire there today. Oh - and it was bloody cold. UTG.

I've been thinking we were probably getting relegated this season. But I think we may have signed the 2 players that will keep us up.

Imagine my shock at the total silence on this forum after what is an absolute beauty of a win.
