Did we have a vote to decide whether we should attend these matches? Would make no difference. Those who lost would only demand another vote.

Did we have a vote to decide whether we should attend these matches? We had a vote on the concept and the results weren't transparently published!

So, IF we reach the Wembley final, who will go? I would go so long as we were playing a league team, but definitely not if we were playing an under-21 team.

It's a free country, others can attend if they so wish. But I would imagine they will be politely reminded of the "bigger picture". UTG.

Failing to support your side is hypocritical too!!! Check up the meaning of the word "Supporter" or did you mean Armchair supporter. If you really think supporters not attending are going to make any difference in this tournament then you are clearly naïve. The FA do what they want and it is clear to see that their interest is not in the clubs below the Championship as things like financing failure, allowing Bolton to get away for so long regarding Doidge, the transfer deadline changes which means that clubs have to employ far more players than they can afford to see them through to January, the list could go on and on and if looked at in the same conext as you are looking at the Checkatrade trophy would mean BOYCOTTING all games!!!!! Anyway you will be happy because going by our attendances this season it looks like 15% are boycotting all games.

There are other ways to support financially without giving money to the EFL shower.. I've made donation, and bought a wad of 50/50 tickets on the night. The point is a principle, and one that is fairly upheld.

Boycotting may not make a difference after all, the League 1 and 2 clubs were bribed by the incentive of the prize fund being boosted/subsidised by The Prem teams as part of getting this b'stardised format agreed.
but I boycott on principal. It is no longer a proper senior competition

Chewbacca, The same as your view!!! With all due respect Steve you lost me at "armchair supporters". My Grandmother stopped going to Rovers in the 1990's, she would listen to every commentary on Radio Bristol, kicked every ball and went through every emotion going until she died. She'd done 60 years of watching Rovers by the time she'd stopped, swept the terraces at Eastville, the lot. I'd have loved to have seen you tell her she didn't "support" the club from her armchair, she'd have given you a clip round the ear and called your opinion "utter tosh".

I’ll be there if we’re up against a FL outfit.
Can’t duck out on the traditional Rovers Wembley Jäger breakfast.
I’m a disgrace.

I'd go if it wasn't against an under 23 side, but fair play to those who feel otherwise. Not sure what Anna Soubry has to do with this though. (Above)

The point I am making Chewbacca is that not attending is hypocritical because you are not supporting your club in a cause that they can do nothing about and has been proven neither can you. Boycotting is making your club suffer not the organisers. They will only look in the wider picture of the tournament overall and the final itself will prove well worthwhile until two under 23 teams get to the final and then it will be interesting. Pep Guardiola has put the cat amongst the pigeons by suggesting that there should be a 2nd League where they play against proper teams when the problem is the fact that the better teams are hording the good young players and the FA have to stop this not give in to their whims. The FA could even up the teams in the Premiership by saying there must be 5 British players in every team selected. This would soon sort out the problem!! The truth is that all the boycotting of the Checkatrade trophy will NOT in anyway help the situation because at the end of the day Money rules and the majority of money goes to the top teams and the failures in the top league which is now causing in a division in the Championship as well.

Obviously the construct of planned action designed to yield a beneficial result over the long term is beyond your cerebral capacity. There, now I've been and done it, the threats will start any minute now.

Wouldn't attend at Wembley! Missed bigger games than this! Great that the team is winning, but I won't be supporting the eventual Premier League takeover.
All very well stating that it's about the money being provided by the Premier League, but all that does is clear the way for them to offer even more money in exchange for a place in L1 or L2. Won't be long......................Look at the reaction of Man City U21 twitter last night and you'll see that they don't care about the teams that they are knocking out along the way!
