To travel away today to Sunderland in such numbers and with our current state of affairs is nothing short of heroic. True Gas spirit! 1,577 gas per harry on a Brass Monkey day just over a week before Christmas. Unbelievable I understand the correct expression is "unbelievable Jeff". I thought we would get a stuffing up there, so a 2-1 reverse is OK in the dire circumstances the Club finds itself in.

Judge this group after Fleetwood at home.
Please keep the same starting line up.
Barring injuries
Trust them and make sure those left out fight for their place.

Right.. First of all, amazing support from us. Not just in numbers, in vocalist way. Like DC said we always give a chance at the start to show support, we pretty much silenced them until half time, then they got going.
We should have been 2-0 up and in Dreamland.... Craig miss was unbelievable!
A nice twist to see Holmes fella play....in a lefter than left back role, overlap and more forward. In first half, this seemed to lend more balance to our attack and create space where a number of times the through ball was beckoning.
Nice to see Jak up front. Although I was skeptical at first about the 4-5-1 line up, he played the role admirably, probably needs to mature a bit to make an effective inroad, but for me m o m.
Locks and Craig seemed to cope with the mundane stuff, but their passing and move was sublime and especially when you see the threaded through ball for their 2nd, you can marvel at their skill as opposed to us making mistakes. That brilliant pass gave the fella time with his control and executed a simple finish to deservedly win them the match. But that's the difference, they are a way higher level than we are, and something to aspire to.
A mention to James Clarke, whom again stepped up to the big stage with a commanding and confident performance. He wasn't afraid to get physical, and if anyone takes time to watch him at defending set pieces, I haven't seen anyone get the better of him yet.
Bennett....meh..... symptom of the problem for me. We're all expecting him to do something, but more often than not he just gives the ball away or is overrun in possession. Yes he hit post v Donnie and sometimes shows quick turn if feet, but for me far too often is inconsistent and flatters to deceive. Same for Nichols. Same for Rodman. Same for sh!tty Upson.
Feel sorry for Payne. So close to being a hero when it cannoned off the bar. In real time I actually wondered what happened because it rebounded the bar at the same angle it hit it!
All in all, a much improved performance. Well done and there's hope for the future.
Really wish we appoint asap, always UptheGas!

I was sat with some Sunderland mates who thought the Jak was excellent and that overall we did well. Lots of noise from the traveling Gasheads even though they were stuck up in the Gods. Apparently the away fans used to be down behind the goal but clubs were bringing so few that it was spoiling the atmosphere. Pity.

Mackem ST holder here , I just had to come on and give your lot the respect they deserve for that attendance yesterday , class away support that and given where you are league wise , unbelievable . Proper away fans . Personally you don’t play like a relegation side imo , wish you all the best for the rest of the season and hope all got home safely through that s*** NE weather.

From a mate who is a season ticket holder there. What a good crowd for an away side. My seat is just below the right hand side of the photo about half way up In the cheap seats corner
Your team put up a good show and unlucky not to get something out of the game
