...unless they’ve built a new home for our club.
A former director told my dad at the ground today that this clause was put into the contract when the Al Qadi’s purchased Rovers.
Categorically said it would be impossible for the current owners to sell the land to the highest bidder and leave us homeless to recoup their money.
Now, how watertight the contract is, I don’t know... but the clause exists.
Thought this needed to be shared with others, as it was a slight reassurance to me when I was told.

Anyone can write or say anything.
Ask your mate on the other forum if it's possible for the business to going into administration, or receivership.
One thing I do believe though is what Wael said about this being the only football club he will ever own.

I suppose that the most likely buyers for the ground would be house builders ? but supposing that house prices drop in March after Brexit, will anyone want to build houses ? I wonder if the value of the ground drops by 10/15/20% what the owners will do?,still they are such "clever businessmen" that they must already have a cunning plan.

all per WeAreTheGas, a mod at the other place, yesterday I heard this also and around a month after they bought us. I don’t know if it’s definitely true but it came from someone who used to play for us and who I have no reason to disbelieve. Thing is, we need to concentrate on the football side first and maybe just let go, for the moment, of the stadium myth and hopefully & if we can overachieve then the stadium will become reality. Of course I’m not happy that we have a crap ground but I can live with it We are the gas is one of the young lads that does the podcasts and is a son a a life long friend. He’s pretty well informed by club officials.

His preference is for the training ground with space for first team, Development squad and Under 18s in one place. Lee believes that is far more important than the stadium.

One thing I do believe though is what Wael said about this being the only football club he will ever own. I'm sure the fans of the other 91 clubs are breathing a sigh of relief to hear that. I hope Gillingham fans in particular are grateful the Chuckle Brothers took their business elsewhere.

So Trainee Coach Mansell 'prefers' improvements to his working environment rather than for the long suffering fans who pay his wages. Hopefully new owners will have different priorities including a new stadium and the release of superfluous staff.

To be fair, Manse was probably answering a specific question about how the UWE fiasco affected the players. With regard to any non sale clause, the owners might not be able to sell the ground but an administrator would. With secured creditors being repaid from the proceeds.

when did they put that charge on the Mem - about April this year? 31st May 2017 Twas at this moment swissgas shared that news. And I gave him a piece of my mind for questioning the motivation of our owners behind it. How dare he have a dig at wonderful new owners? We were on the brink of the new UWE stadium... everything was going to be bloomin' great. Then it wasn't. I have formally apologised to swissgas.

You have, but you never offered me a sausage like Vaughan did ! Seriously though, the concept of apologies on message boards is totally alien to me and when people say things like “so when Wael builds our 30 000 capacity stadium and state of the art training ground you’ll apologize for ever doubting him” I cringe. Absolute nonsense and another sign of the gross sense of insecurity which too many Rovers fans suffer from. We somehow have to get ourselves into a state of mind where we can say what we really think without fear of being vilified for disloyalty. Back onto this topic about the clause in the sale contract which allegedly forbade Dwane Sports from selling the Mem and leaving Rovers homeless. Has anyone asked why the former director had no fear about disclosing the existence of such a clause ? Because from what we have been led to believe anything and everything which involves Rovers is subject to non disclosure agreements.

Indeed!, They are Bankers!, they are not going to invest in a purchase if the main asset is effectively frozen!, and on another note the ALQ's will seriously not be enjoying the bad publicity that they are attracting, for the life of me, with the uwe & training ground stalled long term, WHAT is in it for them now?, keep running up losses with the specter of relegation running into the New Year?. I just hope that Wael still has enough interest and family clout to keep this club running. Investment Bankers in general if a purchase made is found not to have near immediate potential or continues to make substantial losses, they will look to cut those losses at the earliest and recoup as much as possible regardless, family members are probably giving Wael a hard time.
