How do you know that Mintbet cost us nothing? Not keen on rumours, and that's all I have, unsubstantiated rumours, so may well not be true, but I hear that the settlement to them was substantial. It would be interesting to see Gorringe sell off of the back of 2 relegations, any sober 6th former could do it off of the back of 2 promotions. My suspicion is that he wouldn't hang around if that happened, he would be off. Where we agree, I think, is on missed opportunities. These owners are worse than Higgs, they inherited huge goodwill and momentum, and have squandered it. Shameful. Agree with owners, but I'm sorry, I alluded to the grand deception for a long time now. It's no surprise to me. TG..... disagree. Your 6th former comments especially disagree. True, he might not be around, who knows? Some players and/or management might not either. So what? What's your point? The role will still exist though. TG moved from a thriving Premiership outfit, to us. (?) He's helped, not hindered, but you obviously disagree. Seems to be a personal opinion to me. You don't even seem to recognise he's been unilaterally successful in bringing in more sponsorship funds to our club, than any time in our history...? Still, he isn't a GasHead from before birth so must be mistrusted......even though some whom claim to have been Gas have been placed in a position of trust before and have completely abused the privilege. Again you choose to ignore. Well you carry on, son.. Don't know how many times I have to say it, I'm not interested in what went before, it's not in any way connected to Tom's performance, what I care about is what's happening now and missed opportunities. If you have an issue with people defending Ian Holtby take it up with someone else, I don't care. Gorringe was brought in with a brief, and was given a budget, as far as I'm aware nobody before him ever was, that's the vision of the owners. What matters from that point on is maximising the opportunity. Let's try it this way, Nichols is a bit rubbish, we need someone better, should we all get our willies out and start running around in circles if we sign someone who scores 3 goals a season? Of course it's a personal opinion, what else do you expect someone to write?

I'm surprised that whoever was responsible for the Nichols farce kept their job too. How far and deep do you wanna go? How liberal do you wanna consistently spread the knife (that apparently gets stabbed in the back)? Weigh it up.....yes mistakes made, Mintbet didn't cost us anything in £, yet TG has brought more revenue into the club in the last 12 months than any other 12 months before. At least this way we know the funds are getting channeled into the club. What happens from then on is for another thread.....and that conundrum could take years to unravel. These owners are worse than Higgs, they inherited huge goodwill and momentum, and have squandered it. Shameful. I don't think it's particularly helpful to bring up the Higgs regime and compare them to the Dwane Sports. A discussion around "who is best/worse" is pretty pointless. But I think it's safe to say that successful quantity surveyors and successful Jordanian bankers do not necessarily have a clue how to run a football club.

It's amazing how a POSITIVE topic can evolve, isn't it?

It's amazing how a POSITIVE topic can evolve, isn't it? Let's cheer because someone was given a budget to spend with an advertising agency, but has also made a catalogue of mistakes. I don't get it. Sorry.

"...it's not in any way connected to Tom's performance, what I care about is what's happening now and missed opportunities..." Ok, what opportunities specifically have been missed? .... and how or what can TG do to make things better in your eyes? ... "Gorringe was brought in with a brief, and was given a budget, as far as I'm aware nobody before him ever was, that's the vision of the owners." What bit of that is TG fault? He's still brought in more funds in the last year, which you ignore and don't even contest! Yes, mistakes have been made along the way.. ... "Of course it's a personal opinion, what else do you expect someone to write?" I think you know what I meant, a personal attack on TG, rather than weighing up some of the positives *see above. As far as anyone defending Holtby, carry on. Like I said, he isn't missed at all..... can't think of any patrons, staff, fans here that miss him. If they do, they haven't been forthcoming. So past is past. I don't bring it up unless someone before me does. Then of course, as usual.....it all goes quiet over there! 😁 Anyways....best marketing place we've ever been in. An email went out in advance to season ticket holders to bring not one, but 2 friends for £10 last Saturday home match.....no one talks about that. Services personnel got free entry to same match. Great marketing. No one talks about that. These opportunities and others continue, no one talks about it but hey a mistake or two and all hell breaks loose!(?)

Why are you still talking to me about Holtby? Go talk to someone who has defended him on this thread. TG is supposed to be a professional, it's not a question of balancing and seeing if he gets more things right than wrong. Do you think that League clubs have contractual obligations to the League's primary sponsor? It's unbelievable, sorry but impossible to take things seriously ever again after that. That was a daft as setting up a driving school but forgetting that you can't drive.

Thought the rules were about having two competitors to Sky Bet on shirt? Not clear the football index is, guess it went round the houses, another case where we thought we were in the right but the big boys said no.
Now these are my views based on stuff I remember from earlier in the season.
Now I expect a debate on Football Index being a betting service, can see arguments both ways.

Looks like we are light years behind what's happening in BS3.

Unfair to compare.
We're talking about a marketing and PR with almost limitless funds against the real world where budgets are accountable.
Yes miles ahead in terms of fortune, but there really is no other club that has a rich daddy owned by one British guy from the same city pushing through his egotistical agenda.
I'm still happy I'm on this side of the river..

Seen the Yeovil adverts at BRISTOL airport? Not sure if just short term.

Looks like we are light years behind what's happening in BS3. And yet ours are advertised on the official site, whereas I can't see anything on theirs apart from the women's ones.

If it was a rovers poster you would be on here saying the club are wasting more funds by putting up a tacky poster in the middle of the revolting city centre.

Here you go, details of how many available in each area along with a view from each area to help you decide. tickets.bristol-sport.co.uk/en-GB/subscriptions/2018-19%20bristol%20city%20half%20season%20card?hallmapNot sure what you have to do to get the kid's offer, maybe that's conditional, or maybe you have to phone them, I've already looked at too much red for one day thank you

No news item that I can see though. Presumably they think sticking a banner up in the fantastic, concrete mess of a city centre shopping area is sufficient. Worked for you anyway

Just had another look, feel quite unclean now, but still can't see details of the free shirt mentioned on that poster. The banner was too high to spit on, so they had given it a bit of thought.

Its easy, just think of the most negative spin on any bristol rovers topic and your mind is read.
