Of course not helped by the sending off, but for 70 minutes there looked like there was only one team out there of Conference quality - and it wasn't us. Couldn't have complained if we'd been 4-0 down at half-time. The referee gave us a lifeline, looking to even things up for the sending off. Possibly the worst referee that I have ever seen at a professional level (and we've had some good ones, haven't we?). Based on the last 20 minutes we were unlucky not to win it.
Lots of discussion points, very little quality.

Next text received: "Smith in goal is f*ck***g useless". Apart from making two fantastic saves. Could have been 3 down.

To be fair it looked like we sorted it out 2nd half, came on strong at the end and we pretty unlucky not to win. Should finish the job at home now. At least we have an interest in the draw for once!
An age old question, but does sorting it second half imply got it wrong at the start? So many many times we seem to surrender the initiative. Hard to say that as we were down to 10 men after 7 mins.

We have been with officials for 2 years now, it's beyond a joke. Edit. I see Ross Joyce is making a fool of himself again. Had two decisions to make....got one right. Could argue it’s an improvement.....🤪 Think I've caused some confusion here. We had someone called Robert Lewis deciding to give wrong decisions in professional sport today. Ross Joyce was ruining a game elsewhere by doing the only thing he knows how to do, namely losing control of a football match.

We had someone called Robert Lewis deciding to give wrong decisions in professional sport today. Ross Joyce was ruining a game elsewhere** by doing the only thing he knows how to do, namely losing control of a football match. ** In the Chorley v Doncaster FA Cup tie, he gave a straight red card (correctly) to the Chorley full back. The offence was clearly in the 18-yard box, so should have been a penalty, but Mr Joyce in his wisdom gave a free kick, apparently. Sometimes these can be difficult to call, when the action is on the edge of the box. Frequently, when the player lands up in the box, it looks like a clear penalty, only for the video evidence to show that the contact was outside. Yet in this case, both players and the ball were, at all times, in the box. I have no idea how the referee thought it wasn't penalty. Still, good job the Doncaster players didn't question his decision, or he'd have sent them off (like he did Linesey at Fleetwood). Link to highlights of Chorley v Donny

Could have text you that before kick off. Archetypal reserve keeper: as soon as they come onto field you’ve had it. More seriously, thought Bon was here for season if he can’t be cup tied it raises prospect of being recalled, just to sit on their bench and cover an injury, but plunge us into smelly stuff. Less seriously, what’s going on in your avatar Epping? Trumpton doing hammer horror. Radiohead. "Burn the Witch". A comment on the US Presidency. Trumpton meets the Wicker Man. What's not to like? Well it’s the stuff of nightmares. Just like today’s game.
