You think Barnsley are capable of a combination of three goal-keeping errors and own goals? Very hard to see us getting anything up there, but you never know. Bookies have Barnsley 8-15 and the Gas at 6-1. Good luck to all those travelling up t'north. I went there for the FA Cup game. Barnsley was very, very, very grim. Last time i went to Barnsley they had just put a one way systems in and pedestrianised the town centre. The Market was still there with the world famous butcher still making his award winning tomato sausages I Know TMI So, what do people think about the pedestrianisation of Norwich city centre?

Alarm bells were ringing in the last 10 games of the previous season. Then we sold Gaffney. Then Harrison. And replaced them with less quality. The happy clappers were 'happy' with the transfer window (and the previous one where we sold Bodin and replaced him with Mensah). We do not appear to have a plan of how to score a goal. I've been very concerned for the last 6 months. I was happy with the line up and formation before kick off. Listened to the commentary and it sounds like we didn’t play too bad. With the defensive record what it is, and the amount of quality already here before the window, I still wouldn’t rule out promotion. There’s still 70% of the season left. Anyone talking relegation this early is effectively saying to me these players and this team can’t get on a good run, this manager can’t get them into a groove, I simply don’t believe you. However I would prefer more of a settled side and tactic, rather than wholesale change on match to match basis, evidence is our best runs under this manager have come when side and tactic have been more settled. Did we pay money for Mensah? It’s an odd one, if he was at the club he’d probably be the second tallest player, and there ain’t much slight about him. He’s effectively been sent out in favour of rodman. Yes we payed money for mensah and you can safely rule out promotion. The target this season is 20th place.

Not actually about Norwich, it’s one of Partridges key issues. As are the references to quacking plums and feeding beef burgers to swans. Just wanted to clarify that.

Undisclosed, but rumoured to be around £50k for Mensah. My target (before a ball was kicked this season) was 20th. It still is. Talk of promotion... with all due respect emperorsuperbus... you're either on some really good gear and/or super strong farmhouse cider. Please advise where I can get some.

It's a sad thing that we have started to say, "I'll take a 0-0" or I was expecting a shellacking, as most of us were today, and a 1-0 loss is not too bad. There are glimpses of reasonable play now and again, and DC has done well in the past but...

Truth is the owners have failed miserably and the manager has made very bad mistakes. So its all about staying up and hoping the owners/manager can do much better.

I’m not a happy clapper. LOL. We are low in the table. We are lacking goals. Just like the year Trolls took us up. Just like the years clarke took us up. Don’t mean goals aren’t already here. We have chucked away plenty of points this season because we have no form. But form is a fickle thing. I believe in this manager and this squad. They can go on a run. Ok, I'm begging to differ. I'm starting to not believe in this manager and squad from what I'm seeing. I haven't been to every match. If we've chucked away loads of points due to form this season, why are we playing players that were in form out of position (Ollie Clarke) or omitted from starting line up (James Clarke) v Wimbledon? Also, keep playing Nichols if he hasn't scored in a calender year tomorrow? These along with many more questions aren't asked in media. Yet they show themselves in our position in league, and I am very curious as to why you think we are ok, when I provide evidence that something is very, very wrong? It’s gassing about football that makes the world go round. The reason for that is none of really know for certain what’s going to happen next. However, you politely ask a very fair question, so I should lay out the argument for my composure and confidence in this group, and my evidence for it. “I am very curious as to why you think we are ok, when I provide evidence that something is very, very wrong?” I concede, ref play off remark, play offs is a long shot, if we come close from here it’s actually dark chapter in rovers history, to miss out after not getting going in first 30% of season. But top half finish is not that many points, just another 45 could do that. Fact is Plymouth were nearly play off form horse last season, from as naff a position this stage. Let’s use our progress v Barnsley as a marker stone, those who saw it, was there as much difference on grass thisafternoon as on paper tonight Barnsley in 4th? I will concede some of the transfers don’t appear great success at moment, that might prove true, but right now today we can’t say it’s true of Mathews, Nichols, Payne, Rodman, Bennett, Upson, Riley, the lesson from history is you can be exchanged like a donkey for a dozen tracksuits in the lower leagues, but end up a Demi God at somewhere like Chelsea (Cascarino) If you say it’s impossible for this squad and this manager to go on a good run between now and end of season, well phooey I believe they can. That’s not just based on happy clappyness, fact is there is experience and quality in this group. more than half the performances this season could have and often should have deserved more points, over last ten years we’ve had many slumps where you couldn’t say that. The psychology is, I believe they believe they can... I have got behind worse rovers squads, worse managers, and worse run of performances than this over the last five thousand years. Hold your nerve Gasheads. Let’s be that twelfth man.

Oh a poor man's Ronnie barker Ronnie Barker is a bit broad for my taste. Gag man. He was a talented actor and writer who has at least a decade at the top of his profession whereas your hero?had what 2 years before slipping into obscurity. Anyway I am too tired after a long days driving to and from south Yorkshire and watching an unconvincing performance by the team and manager to duscuss the semantics of pam.ayres cousins ability

I don’t like Coogan much as a person, he didn’t even write most of it. He’s certainly not my hero.

I still wouldn’t rule out promotion. The Emperor writes beautifully on here; in fact, so well as to cause my return. Before I left the Guzzler for a break, I thought DC and this squad could achieve top half, ninth place, their best position yet. But neither manager nor players are performing as I hoped they might. DC's decision making is confusing, and replacements for the players we have sold are nowhere near the quality we've lost to Ipswich, Preston, nor to 82. The striker we have signed can't score a goal! If he thinks chance of play-offs isn't dead, then Emp'ror Super Bus has lost his head.

Ok so we lost. Disappointing as we appeared to be in it for stages and created more chances.
Would not have been surprised losing away to Barnsley on our current form but feel frustrated we didn't get a point.
Thanks for 3-5-2 Darrell. Try it again please.
Keep the faith guys. Keep patient. It will come.
Needs to stop chopping and changing but i don't think he will

Not convinced that squad rotation is a bad thing. Someone said this is the worst front line for many a year. True, but the relegation season and Graydon era was much worse

The formation put us more on the front foot today and it wasn't anywhere near the dire stuff dished up many times this season. Barnsley had a bit of Championship about them in their running and movement and there was plenty of space for Lines to make his runs. I found it entertaining to watch but if Barnsley are the level we need to aspire to then we're far from the promotion frame. We are not relegation fodder either but soon will be if we don't go on a decent run soon. Payne held the ball up well and brought others into play, and was unlucky not to score when he sent a sizzler against the bar from a tight angle out wide on the right. But that was as close as we got to scoring really.
To those who use attitude to describe black players, it says more about your attitude than theirs.
