Why can't we play Payne/Reilly or Payne/Jak combo up front? I mean, why not try? They've all scored this season. With all the tinkering of squad and team, the most obvious priority of goalscoring and getting the chemistry right seems stagnant. I say that's poor management. The whole club is Stagnant. It's no excuse to continue to play a non striking striker when there are other options.

It's worse than that. Stagnant is no activity, dull, sluggish, Rovers are sliding backwards and racking up big losses doing it. Now we learn that the first team budget has been increased this season, so the accounts for this period will look even worse. Stagnant is something to aspire to from where we are.

Worry not, there will be £1.2m cuts next year to offset the current spending. Unfortunately, our income will probably fall significantly (isn't optimism great?) and we will stay very much in the red.

It's comparable value to Justin Channing at £275k or Bob Lee at £90k. Channing was good. Remember that goal V city in 1992? I think Mickey Evans, Mark McKeever...we have some other big signings who were worse. On another note, we have got good fees for some players that weren't deserved. Marcus Browing for £500K at the time seemed high. Currently, based on record with BCFC, £300K for Taylor seems high. 3 goals in 35 I think. I once had a long conversation with Geoff Dunford about who was the best fee we had for a player we sold. He replied "Steve Yates...…….he was never worth the money we got for him" with a big grin on his face

Nichols. He’s our Don Draper. Our Spartacus. Our Lennie Pike. We are all willing him on to see off the daemons and become a winner. Everybody loves a happy ending. Tune in next time for another fascinating instalment. I am Nichols; and I am Nichols; I am Nichols...……………

Update. I am sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong... but I reckon Tom Nichols league record is as follows: 54 appearances in total 31 starts 23 as substitute (of which 5 were in injury time or within 5 minutes of 90 minutes). Goals 1. Assist by Ed Upson (MK Dons). I'm not putting this up to put the boot in. He's worked hard and done quite well over the last couple of months. It does however sum up how desperate we are that we don't seem to have an alternative. People keep asking me why the Gas are so sh*t this season - and I start to tell them about our non-scoring striker who starts regularly. Just wanted to get my facts straight. In his defence I also mention the lack of pace, width, creativity, quality, consistency in line-up and/or formation, and total lack of a decent ball in the final third means that goal scoring opportunities are somewhat limited. Update. 55 appearances in total, 31 starts, 24 as sub (5 for limited time). Goals 1.

Bamber is right, he has missed too many open goals, or to quote Stewart "tap ins". He needs to go, simple

Well at Posh he was on a 4 year deal, and they released the figure of £350,000. I suspect he has a 4 year deal here too after all why would you go from a 4 year deal to anything less?

There was a club Q and A maybe something called blue diamond? where it was said the club does not give out anything longer than 2 year contracts.

With Taylor I don’t think he was bought to score goals. He was bought to stop him scoring goals for another team.😉 UTG

Soccerbase has it at 72 appearances 42 starts 30 sub! I hope for everybody's sake his deal is up this summer, assuming we manage to stay up in spite of one of our regular attackers being as profligate as Tom Nichols, another season in League One would probably be the death knell for the lad's reputation, even at Exeter.

Well after Saturdays pathetic effort from the prat I have changed my mind. He should have put us one up in the first ten minutes if he could have found the motivation to stick his leg out and knock one in from three yards. He spent the majority of that game doing his now familiar hiding from the action routine. Another one headed to non league football if he’s lucky.

On the contrary, steptoe, Nichols was heavily involved on Saturday. In the first half alone he was responsible for the breakdown of no fewer than NINE Rovers attacks.
I really do not understand how he gets a game. If I managed a pub team he would not even be on the bench.

Nichols should go to Budleigh Salterton.People going there are never seen again so guess,Steve Hamer, Leadbitter,Sam Slocombe,Alex Rodman and Jon the Stripe must have retired there.
