'poor crosses so far' per KB. 'too high, ball needs to go to feet' of the 2 short-arses we have up front
several crossing opportunities already at least

337 minutes without scoring, based on 90 minutes' play today, if we don't score before the end

Matthews hit the post from a free kick. Maybe with a touch from the GK on the way

0-1 Morris, last minute of the game. 'From nothing' Don't let anybody tell you it was 'from nothing' 3 great saves to keep the score at 0-0, one superb back post clearance when all their player had to do was nod it in, at the other end a free kick pushed on to the post and nothing else of any note. The difference was work rate, we are so slow going forward they had all the time in the world to get organised, when we mess around and lose the ball within a few seconds they had 3 attackers on the edge of our box. Nichols adds comedy value, but as a footballer he's dog dirt. Tried to cross the ball after 8 minutes, hit it straight into Swampy's legs despite him only being about 5 yards away. Then after 17 minutes was running towards the ball and just fell over, nobody near him, he just fell over. Utter waste of a shirt. Get rid.

Not really sure how Joe Martin gets a game in front of Micky Kelly.

So DC says we are in the dark ages while the red half of City have unlimited funds. Must admit I don't believe he is correct.
The "Dark Ages" is a historical periodization traditionally referring to the Middle Ages, that asserts that a demographic, cultural, and economic deterioration occurred in Western Europe following the decline of the Roman Empire.
We have an assistant manager, defensive coach, fitness and medical staff, academy coaches and a development squad. There are more backroom staff than we have ever had in the Club's history.
Trolls just had Lawrence and a few part time coaches and managed promotion and a good cup run. Francis had Kenny Hibbitt Des Bulpin and no reserve team just a few youth trainees and won the championship and got into the Leyland Daf Final with no budget for signings just a bunch of free transfer signings and youth products.

DC's more of a renaissance man than he might let on. I think we should let him blow off just a little bit of steam

He's just practicing blaming other people and refusing to accept responsibility for things that you've obviously made a mess of yourself, getting ready for the rumoured return of previous board members.

This is how I saw it...
Looked at the team sheet....despair....Nichols picked again. No Sercombe. No Kelly. Dear oh dear.
If you want a goal, need a goal, lets pick a non scoring striker....i blame dc for this failing tactic. Granted, Nichols in first half defensively was notable. But the blame clearly lands at dc door when again he doesn't score or assist or do anything to warrant an undroppable situation.
So we play with 10 men.
Walsall were on the front foot alot. We struggled to cope with them at times and I want to say they were a very decent team. Just, all the play acting, ref baiting and timewasting didn't bestow them.
I really liked Dobson number4, and their number 3 left foot delivery. I thought their disallowed goal was a handball and rightly booked number 3. But Walsall defended well, by throwing themselves in fronted of ball and blocking numerous shots. And when they broke, they broke in numbers. They also got back in numbers, but therein is one of my main observations...
We are too slow on attack. Our tempo is too slow. There's not enough movement in front of ball.... Plenty to side and behind. This leaves little options when attacking.
I would put Ollie Clarke/Bonham m o m they both out played themselves. Ollie was brilliant at breaking up moves and play in the simple ball....Bonham kept the game competitive til the end.
I really like James Clarke! His physical competitiveness was the main bane of Walsall complaints to ref, but I've seen the same against Nat Harrold, Gaffers, Ellis and the like without so much of a sniff. Fair play, we have a real combatative reliable source of defending....his pass to Ollie as a hospital ball left alot to be desired though.
What's happening to Danny Leads? His crossing seems to be worse this season?
Therein lies the problem....cross to whom? Reilly/Nichols/Jakubiak all smaller than the average centre back..
So....poor service and poor finishing was the story of our day.
Hey, I'm seeing a team that is never gonna score many goals with Nichols playing in. It's taking up valuable tine and space which could be used forming partnership elsewhere.
Carry on, and we will struggle.

It's taking up valuable tine and space which could be used forming partnership elsewhere. Carry on, and we will struggle. Here's a couple more observations for you. Like most teams we come up against, they threw themselves on the floor, often with no contact whatsoever, their No 11 did it with no Rovers' player within a yard of him, instead of booking the player the referee made it clear he had seen what happened by laughing at him. 10 mins later he booked the bloke, so, yet again, we suffer because an official doesn't apply the rules. But judging by last week's effort, we wouldn't have scored against 10 players, so it probably didn't matter in the end. Ref Danny's crossing, watch what happens, he always overhits them, we always attack the front and middle of the goal. Do we train during the week, is our manager watching the game or practicing his post-match comments already, surely he must have noticed this? Quarter of the season gone, we are in a relegation position, something needs to change.

Leads had at least 3 good crosses, but they seem to be forgotten. The last was the pull back on deck, can't remember who. But as usual couple bad crosses and that's all people see.
Before complaining about front two we have to look at the four in midfield. Clarke winning ball looking for passes breaking into box, mom. Couple times caught out as no one to pass too. Lines, no longer seems to drive with the ball. Part of the issue that tempo is slow. Couple shots today. Sincs cannot play wide, did very little today. Bennett can spin and lose a player but can't run much more than 10 yards with the ball. After Clarke will any the other thre score more than two goals this season?
Sercombe not match fit yet has to be tried in home game alongside Clarke.
Matthews woke us up with some strong runs, can he do it over 90 mins?
Whoever is in the front two spend so much effort running around but not in final third.
Not sure what answer is at moment

Not sure what answer is at moment But this isn't a new problem we have had it for several years but it has been masked by the fact that in Taylor. Bodin.Harrison and even gaffney were able to produce individual pieces of magic that got us goals.now they have gone and we have run of the mill forwards these faults are now being emphasised and this is where the manager has to show us he knows how to rectify it

Starting Line Up was all wrong. Waited until 55 minutes to rectify it.
By then you have let Walsall into the game where we couldn't wait for HT, their corners caused us constant problems.
Bennett and Nichols MUST be dropped. Nichols ran down the line for a ball and didn't try to win it he just gave up. Not good enough. Bennett gives the ball away too much. Matthews was far better than both in 10 minutes.
Martin was ok but Kelly is better. Leadbitter was poor and lacks any kind of confidence to beat people and his crossing is shocking.
He's too old to still be potential.
DC rotates the squad too much and molly coddles the players around recovery periods. No Payne when he was our most dangerous player on Tuesday. If injured I'll take that back.
We didn't miss Lockyer. Apart from our attacking set pieces. They were taller than us. We were short today.
Reilly and Jakubiak are not necessarily the answer but both did better than Nichols. Probably Payne plus one of them. Sercombe needs to start. Partington is so much better than Leadbitter.
Ollie gave the ball away too much today. Sinclair and Lines were good. Bonham outstanding. Craig and J Clarke played well.
Walsall did not deserve 3 pts especially on 2nd half. A draw was fair or if any late winner it was ours.
