The new stand allows more spectators,in particular families a chance to watch the games sitting down and dry so its clearly improved the ground. Its not the new ground we all want but its an obvious improvement/attraction for a family. Here you go, you should like this as well then. Anyone who thinks that ''stand'' is nifty should get a right buzz off of a blue and white doggy poo bag, and not just any bag, this one fits straight to your mutt's arse.

You just absolutely know that Dwane will not leave without every single penny paid up to them. They may even end up making a profit once the interest is accounted for. The divide in the fan base about the Waq Shack is child's play compared to what could happen if a deal stalls over the amount of cash Dwane Sports want to relinquish control of the club. If a deal collapses because of Dwane wanting their loan repaid in full I wonder how many Gasheads will still support them and say "it is only fair they get all their money back". If there is a deal being discussed and it falls out of bed because Wael, Hani and their Father are demanding unreasonable terms, we'll never know, they'll have confidentiality agreements in place. Of course, sometimes these things get leaked, but it won't be confirmed.

Let's grow some "stingers" at The Colony in memory of Olly being thrown in stinging nettles on his first day at Training at Wimbledon FC. He was always known as "Stinger". I would love to know the thoughts of Bristol Energy on this fiasco. “It’s been a summer of football excitement. We now want to help young football fans to get the most enjoyment from their local club, and give something special back to their loyal fans.”- Peter Haigh, Managing Director, Bristol Energy “We’re excited to be working with a company that shares the same values as our football club. We’re dependent on the incredible support that we have locally. So it makes sense to choose an energy supplier that will do right by our community. This kit offer is a fantastic and rare opportunity for our fans.” – Tom Gorringe, Commercial Director, Bristol Rovers

People on here getting high and going way over the top by hammering the "new stand". Like i said its better than we had before so thats good right?
Also posters going off topic with total guesswork regarding what the owners will do if the debts exceed the value of the clubs assets. Nobody knows do they? What have all the other clubs owners done in the same situation? I mean virtually every club loses money dont they? What do the other clubs do when their debts exceed the assets?
Rank Amateurs guessing what will happen is all part of the forum way i suppose all over the country.

I think it would be disappointing if they came out evens let alone ahead. In terms of added value to the club I don't feel they have brought all that much to deserve getting away clean. That being said according to some they saved us from administration so for that alone perhaps we should carry them to the door on our shoulders with their suitcase of cash in tow and thank them for their dilligent service.

I tell you one thing though, to give the devil it's due I have just been laughing for the last 3 minutes solid about the whole Waq Shack thing.
If nothing else I bet it has even given Gasheads a good old laugh and in these dark times anything that puts a smile on people's faces is no bad thing.
Up the Waq Shack!

No, sorry, I didn't intend it to come across that way. But this new family stand is a further example of how little Dwane Sports really care about Rovers or it's supporters so we must resist the temptation to naively assume that our owners will willingly make sacrifices for the good of the football club. Only a rank amateur would delight in telling how business is one lovely carousel ride where everyone wins and you always come up smelling of roses. A professional would tell you that every day business assets are sold to repay debt, people are put out of work and lives are disrupted when companies have to be restructured. This is how the system works, and there is no shame in it, but people who are prepared will stay ahead of the game and minimise the disruption they suffer.

I don't think this stand is anything to do with the owners. Sure, they should have stopped it happening in this shambolic form, but I think they will shudder when they see it for the first time. Another tick in the 'Not quite so good column' for someone.

That is what they don't seem to get on the other forum, there is a lot of talk of temporary structures but I think that sort of talk comes from a position of trust that the owners have got a grand plan that reuqires some temporary seating as part of a transition to better things. I however, based on what we have already seen, totally draw the observation you have- that the stand is actually symptomatic of a lack of interest from the owners. Do the bare minimum to scrape by and do it on the cheap. I too see nothing to suggest that the wider family will do right by Rovers in trying to recover their investment. Amtrak's money will be just as welcome as any consortium involving Higgsy. I think we are in for a bumpy ride over the next year or so as these takeover rumours play out and the last drops of equity are wrung out of the stadium.

So, Waq Shaq vs Santa's Grotto for the Most Embarrassing Rovers Moment Ever Category? One of our supporters punching a Police horse is right up there Then of course, who could forget the balloon launch at a home game, not sure what it was for, maybe the launch of the Share Scheme, hundreds of blue and white balloons under a net, all to be released as the players came down the tunnel, only we filled them with normal air, so instead of floating away they kind of bobbled all over the pitch. Getting relegated out of the League by a team wearing our own shirts was pretty naff. I'm sure there are plenty more....

Didn't Atkins at one time like to watch from the TV gantry and want to get a message to Junior, so he phoned the dug out for the message to be passed on, whoever the assistant manager was called Junior over and handed him the phone, during a game. Or did I dream that? God, we are a bit rubbish

Just guessing that our owner will not service our debts if they exceed the value of the mem seems very strange to me. Im not keen on the mini kangaroo court that have decided the owners will not keep the club afloat beyond the debt exceeding the value of the mem. Nobody has presented one shred of evidence to back up their dark warnings. Im fed up that we appear nowhere near the new ground we really need but thats not to say the owners havnt improved the club because they clearly have imo.

I read that should we have potential for a big gate, the new Stand can be dismantled to allow a larger standing capacity, how will the Sponsors feel about that?, and what are the costs for a dismantle & rebuild?, must surely run into thousands of pounds!. Surely it is a temporary-permanant fixture. Good business and PR for the club?, I do wonder.
