WMGas, he used the snake gif. Big deal. It could be seen as him doffing his cap to the original insult.
As for the Dagenham game, we had over 30 shots that day. It was nerves all round. He did set up Lee Brown for a tap in.
Mango...fair comment.

He is in a job where usually by the age of 35, your career is over. The days of Stuart Taylor are gone. Matt wanted a better life and a more secure future. He did what countless others have done. I agree with the sentiment : if I was offered 3 or 4 times the salary I’m sure that I’d go too! I think the issue many have with him was the MANNER of the move: that ‘behind the scenes’ video of him signing - designed to rub our noses in it!), and joining in and playing along with Bristol Sports’ obvious mocking of the Rovers over the move (he could have opted to request that the transfer was handled with dignity), including having a laugh at Rovers’ expense with their ‘Champagne moment of the season’ award etc. Has he acted with respect and dignity then I think the reception wouldn’t be as bad. As it was he seemed to revel in the piss taking and mockery of the Gas that followed the move.Everything RG2 said x 10.

Wonder what the OXford fans think, seeing as he f**ked them over to re-sign for us
I would have him back under the right circumstances. Just show a bit of humility. Better players have done far worse things that deserve the stick they get. Taylor was a bit stupid, but can't begrudge him moving to set him up financially at his age after being on relative peanuts for years

Wonder what the OXford fans think, seeing as he fed them over to re-sign for us I would have him back under the right circumstances. Just show a bit of humility. Better players have done far worse things that deserve the stick they get. Taylor was a bit stupid, but can't begrudge him moving to set him up financially at his age after being on relative peanuts for years If Matt had renegotiated with us, I’m certain we would have given him 3 years on 4-5k a week. Ricky was on 7k? I think Jeff Hughes was on 7k? Possibly more. Let’s say £5k a week for 3 years, we could have signed him up for £750k, that’s £250k per annum for 3 years. Plus, he could have singed for anyone else bar city in those 3 years. He would have been our main man and would have been further in the shop window. He did it in the most cynical way; to even mock us after. Even when he was scoring for us, from his interviews he seemed like an arrogant fccker and I never liked him as a personality. Plus the release fee being the bid from City. Don’t tell me that was a lucky guess. As I said before, Clarke is a fair guy and understands players need to earn. Even he was taken aback by how that deal went down. Nobody hates billy bodin, Harrison, Lockyer....we understand players need to earn. Even if Matt ran his contract down and then signed for city- nobody would hate him for that. Well, not as much. Being sold for your exact release fee, doing so in a promotion bid, right at the end of the transfer window so we can’t sign a replacement. The whole thing was set up to be as punative to us as possible . Deliberately from SL as his club was failing and he wanted cheap points. Then, he openly mocks us after. There’s being sensible about it, but if you’re thinking “fair dos, it’s business” then you’re obviously a very laid back individual. This is the difference between your wife leaving you, or, your wife leaving you while taking all your money and leaving for your worst enemy, and then mocking your penis size on social media, despite treating her extremely well. Big difference. I’m still upset my ex wife did that!

List of people that would mean I would stop watching the Gas if they rocked up at the Memorial Stadium: Matty Taylor, and (unlikely though it would be), Luis Suarez, Sergio Ramos, Jose Mourinho. I think that's about it. Once you destroy the Clubs identity by associating it with scum - you destroy the Club.

Fans can abuse an opposition player for 89 mins, but when they cup a hear to the fans, the fans scream incitement
I will save my 'hatred' for the really horrible f**kers like Hughes etc

He left two and a half years ago and there seems to be threads about him on both/either forums every month. The way he acted was frankly thick as mince but I just can't be bothered expelling energy on it.

The players are professionals at work. We are paying spectators. There are many, many players who’s default celebration is to run to the opposition fans, regardless of if they’ve been provoked. I completely disagree that players should be allowed t do this. It’s not about “giving a bit back”, it’s “winding up and getting acclaim from my team mates” It’s symptomatic of the 15 year old boy culture in football, players never really leave that environment. I’d immediate book to red card a player who runs and jeers the opposition fans. It’s unsportsmanlike, inflammatory and stupid. Of course, fans jeer as well. That’s what you’re allowed to do when you pay their wages. Seeing multimillionaires jeer crowds of “normal” folk, many of which said nothing, is crass and arrogant.

Its often obscenities (I swear like a trooper) and sometimes vile abuse. I dont cry like a baby when i get something back. As for Matty Taylor, 15 years ago when i was younger and went all over watching the Gas i might have 'felt the hatred'. Im a bit more grown up now

The other thing that I wondered that night was how many of them would say that sort of thing to Akinde's face ?

Taylor was without doubt a fine goalscorer for us 41 appearances in Conference and four as sub 17 goals plus 60 Football League Appearances eleven as sub with 43 goals. Helped us out the Conference and League Two. A talented footballer appreciated by many some not so due to his move to Bristol City for me his goals and set up play has been sorely missed since he left in January 2017.

Payne and Snake in the same week, what a bumper edition of fun from the football gods. I'm off work ill today but I suddenly feel a second wind of inspiration. How quickly can one assemble an effigy of Snakey and, more importantly, who still holds a Taylor 10 shirt that they haven't burned yet?

I have a horrible feeling that this week could end in total embarrassment for some individuals.
