IMO Loyalty has different priorities depending on the person. Family being secure is something you cannot really argue against. Given the short timeframe of a footballer, and risks with injury/loss of form... etc fully appreciate his decision. Was good for us and wish him well. If he had gone to another club, I doubt we would be subjected to repeated dialogue degrading a good footballer.

It’s pretty much all I like in football. We’re us, you’re you, and we’re great, and you’re rubbish. Don’t sacrifice your testicles on the altar of good reason! Relish and rejoice in it! It’s what makes life fun!

He is the best striker out there at championship level or Scottish top level even. He just needs game time if decent scouts are out there he would be the first player on their radar. He is as good as Scott Sinclair surely. I am genuinely not sure if this is a wind up or not.

very clever player, scores goals, he will make a team very happy wherever he goes imo
moving to the vermin ? cant blame him, buisness
I think many would have moved in by now if not for the manner of the way this business was done. He showed extremely poor judgment in doing what he did and I believe will actually lose out in the long run

No wind up just a lack of games hiding their true potential. These are the players worth their weight in gold. So called scouts or what ever they are called now adays still struggle to sus these players out.

Think it’s either a wind up or drugs involved several champion strikers valued at 20 plus million and as for Scotland he must have never seen an spl match Scot Sinclair not even a striker but if he thinks he’s better than dembele edouard or griffiths than its drugs

With Bobby Reid likely to be off to West Brom for 7 million likely Taylor will get more game time come August.

cant blame him, buisness Exactly! Loyalty has played no part for majority of footballers for a long time Assume he is happy living in Bristol so why would anyone not move on to another team in the same city if offered substantially more money, higher division and far far better facilities? People need to be ware that fan loyalty and player loyalty are two vastly different matters As for him as a player it was not just his goals but his link up play bringing others into the game and his work rate on and off the ball - I still miss him as a player and would have him back No one will convince me that the transfer was done ethically re buy out clause etc - Lansdown bought him to spike our play off chances and take pressure off L J at the time I feel saddened that he has now been forced to move for a third time, since his move to the 82. It makes us look every bit as bad as them, in the 1982 episode where the AG 8 were threatened, had their property vandalised and so on. I thought we were better than that but seems I’m very wrong. Regardless of what I think, I wouldn’t dare to even approach him if I saw him let alone abuse and threaten. Poor show those that did and do this. You give them even more ammo to use against us

It just irks me how some people still go on about the snake and Sainsburys. For me I’ve consigned both to the past, don’t get me wrong I was disappointed about Taylor moving to City and Sainsburys pulling out of the UWE deal but I don’t bring them back up on a constant basis as some of our fans like to do. As one door closes, another door opens, in Taylor’s case it was Bodin who took on the responsibility of our “star” player and in the case of Sainsbury’s it only lead us to reject the UWE and think about redeveloping the Mem. Both of which are not too bad things to of happened to us in my eyes. This is a good point. I dread to think what would have happened had Sainsbury's decided to give us our £28m, nobody yet has explained where the other £12m (minimum) to get UWE built was coming from. The Taylor thing will keep going round and round as long as he's an active player, best get used to it. The gas girls were going to pay it and have the “services” of any team member on rolling contract lol

I find that kind of reply hard to understand from any adult. I won’t go into what and how of the actual deal but tell me you would stay at a lower division, on a quarter if the wage offered out of some kind of forced loyalty and where fickle fans will tear you a new one if you dint score in a couple of games and I’d say you were nuts. He’s not even a Bristolian. It’s a limited period to earn as much as you can and go as far as you can go. He, as a player, would know of where the stadium was going and made a choice. To be ran out of 2 houses is disgusting behaviour and what I grew to expect if the 82 but I see the hate goes far at our club too

Thank god for them when working 6 days a week in some half a pony town in Germany lol My old man worked in Germany in 70s and had lodgings in a brothel. He promised me he was chaste. Yeah right, Dad

To be ran out of 2 houses is disgusting behaviour and what I grew to expect if the 82 but I see the hate goes far at our club too He allegedly told his agent his release fee. It was done right at the end of the window to stop us signing a replacement. It’s a bit different. I don’t condone violence but it’s amongst the worst ways to shaft your club for financial gain. Lambert could have, but didn’t. Clarke could have gone to Leeds for the money and didn’t. His future as a starter here was good. He traded it all to shaft us and warm a bench. Part of that deal was Lansdown specifically and cynically derailing our promotion bid which was looking good. They were looking like they were down. You can’t tell me that was purely about football on the pitch, it was partly a coup to keep their fans happy. Not usual business at all. Clarke seemed to echo the idea he conducted his business without class or grace. And Clarke’s a fair guy.

Matty taylor is well yesterday or very old news. Today is kyle bennett and his dazzling ball skills and step overs or liam sercombe running onto a pass on his lethal right foot. Ellis harrison causing panic with pace and strength and endless work rate. Tom broadbent, very raw but powerful. Can the beard still be the beard? can dan leadbitter still scorch the grass on the overlap. Can anyone whose played the game at any level imagine trying to mark chris lines? Time to move on from matty taylor imo.
