I heard this and the lyrics went something like this
I was born under the North Stand Bar Repeat Can not remember next line?? Trains were made for wrecking And if I see a City fan I'll kick his ******* head in.
Uplifting ditty sung by Ken Baker and brothers with gusto in North Enclosure in late 70s and early 80s.
Where was Ken born exactly? 😅

Who's the greatest player ? Harold is his name And if you come to Eastville you wont go home again
I was born under a Tote end bar
Knives are made for stabbing Guns are made to shoot If you come in the Tote end we'll all stick in the boot
I was born under a Tote end bar
Boots are made for bovver Trains are made to wreck And if I see a city fan I'll break his ******* neck

What a beautiful bedtime lullaby.
Thanks for sharing.
There were obviously 2 versions of this song, one re-mastered for those near the North Stand Bar

I miss our diverse songs. We only seem to sing a couple these days. What was the song in Tote that ended: ".....like f ing hell!"

Thanks for that, T. I remember the end of the chant. Still makes no sense to me. Strange, because we never (or hardly ever) sang Irene at Eastville.. ...now that's pretty much all we do sing!

I remember us singing it a fair bit, just that it was always the slightly different version with the introduction bit 'We're Rovers supporters, we're faithful & true etc.'

There was another song based on Julie Andrews 'Wouldn't it be lovely' changed to have suitably violent lyrics.
I agree that Goodnight Irene wasn't sung as much, maximum once a game and lots of games not at all, there were lots of songs, based on pop songs ancient songs TV adverts etc.

You got that right ! Used to love it when sung at the start of a game and if full and without the ( and white) added. Does my head in now
