Nice to meet a fellow pedant, accuracy-monger, Rivers.

Harrison 9.5 MOM Superb is the only way to describe Ellis's performance yesterday and I would go as far as to say that retaining his services are probably more important than keeping Billy Boden. He is at last showing his full potential and kept the home defence busy throughout and how on earth he had the energy left to run from his own half and sprint clear and keep his calm for a brilliant goal I just don't know and i wonder some times how good he could be if he had the luxury that say Kane gets at Tottenham where he doesn't have to keep coming back. That said, how many balls in the air did he win yesterday as I can't remember him not getting to any ball that went near him in either penalty area and he set up Gaffney for his goal as well. Brilliant is the only way to describe his performance. Hi Steve Always go to your reports for game analysis. Although I wasn't there (round trip to Donny is just a bit too far from Oz) but I do disagree with the highlighted bit. potential pə(ʊ)ˈtɛnʃ(ə)l/Submit adjective 1. having or showing the capacity to develop into something in the future. "a campaign to woo potential customers" synonyms: possible, likely, prospective, future, probable, budding, in the making; More noun 1. latent qualities or abilities that may be developed and lead to future success or usefulness. "a young broadcaster with great potential" synonyms: possibilities, potentiality, prospects; More Given that potential is in the future, maybe that should read: "showing his full class" I will shut up now, and crawl back into my hole. I can see nothing wrong with Steve's statement, Ellis is showing what he can grow into, he is not yet the finished article which most of us know; this has caused some of the early derogatory comments from certain supporters, frustration amongst others and willingness to wait amongst the rest.

If he is only now SHOWING his full potential, what was he showing before? Potential can change, depending on early attitude, fitness, strength, coaching and the like. The words 'at last' and 'full' in Steve's statement may be muddying things, anyway who cares? So hopefully back to football...

Thanks for the support dido. You have shown your potential to be a great mate. Oh but you are a great mate, so no potential left, right or through the middle.

Ellis got the SkyBet League 1 Goal of the Month for his goal (that should boost his morale during his recovery); as it's a fans' vote, well done the Gasheads too: www.bristolrovers.co.uk/news/2018/february/ellisgoalofthemonth/

The main reason I left all Rovers related groups was the disgusting things written of him, they ranged from wishing career ending injury to just outright abuse if the worst kind. It wasn’t a small amount but the majority. Many saying he wouldn’t make it in teams 4-5 tiers below us. The area I live in was full of Harrison haters. I do wish I cold see how they are wriggling now but I shall never again have anything to do with these so called appreciation groups

Hi Jools - I don't want to copy all of your post, but this abuse Harrison used to get - was it,uh,er, like that which TN,TC,BM & K "Lightweight" B are getting now? My perception is that it comes from those who want to demonstrate their deep, erudite football knowledge or who simply cannot accept a defeat in any form. I'd guess you've been around a while - do you remember Bill Dodgin saying the crowd broke Robin Stubbs? Nothing new I guess.

I’ve never known open abuse as bad as he got and many saying he should be loaned out to a conference Sudetenland and the like. Sad to say it but also some was of the old school stereotype Ron Atkinson type. I felt Eliot Richards had it bad but nowhere near that of what Harrison got. It would go a long way for me if at least some of them were to apologise.
