The Latvian is right. But to empathise with BB, it would be an expensive month to be injured. Assuming that he likes money, he'd want to be available for transfer. I dislike very much the January transfer window as a result. shoveler “Assuming he likes money” that made me LOL. To be honest it was only when I got seriously sick that I realised I am surrounded with stuff and it has only brought me very short periods and moments of joy. It takes an enlightened soul to truly understand that possessions and stuff is not the path to true joy. Personally, happiness and I mean true happiness has only come to me as a by product of helping someone else. I know it’s a bit deep for a football forum but I wish I had learned it much earlier and that it hadn’t taken me getting sick, to come to that conclusion. Now, getting back to the football, I cant see us holding onto Bodin. When it comes to championship and then the prem, it’s a chasm between the wages paid and lifestyle on offer. I would bear him no ill will at all if he manages to get a couple or 3 years of decent pay and to improve himself. I just wish it was with us and that our owners could or would see the bigger picture and understand that if they really and seriously invested then just one season in the highest league would see a very handsome return. Meanwhile in BS3 a certain Steve Lansdown has taken our pants down ( forgive the pun)and we are getting a proverbial spanking. Look at clubs like West Brom. The eternal yo-yo club. They can afford the wages. How I wish we had owners with some foresight So you want us to be a club known for paying high wages? Thought we tried that. There has to be a budget and can't all go to one player.

All I am saying is that it’s glaringly obvious that we cannot compete on that level and it would be nice if we were able to bring in some quality from time to time. ANY real Rovers fan will know it’s been this way for years but we haven’t had a manager before who has said it so publicly. When our own manager and even chairman say that we can’t afford certain players then I take notice. It’s all well & good knowing to hear this evolution not revolution mantra but sometimes it would be nice to know that we can bring in some quality when needed. I did not even suggest that we pay over the odds and if you think so then you habe totally misread what I wrote

It gets added to the debt pile and starts accumulating interest.

I don't know too much about football or economics in general. But certain processes seem apparent to me. Signings = wages = losses = debts = unsustainable Failure = relegation = decline = losses = debts = unsustainable Football is broken if a club cannot achieve sustainable competition outside of the premier division. I'd be quite happy in the 3rd division if we broke even despite investment in both training and matchday grounds. Sustainable middle division football with a valiant tilt every season at promotion and the cups. But as I think it was you who said elsewhere that the next generation of gasheads may depend on us catching up with Bristol Sport's 1982 section. I agree with this too. EDIT: well I wrote that and in 5 minutes BB signed for PNE anyway. BB: too talented for this division, thanks, all the best. Glad he wasn't taken in a crooked deadline day sabotage. Hope we got some money to sign some talent.

Thanks for letting me know

IMHO Telford would score goals given a run in the team. DC said he made mistakes in the Summer and yes he did the worst was signing Nicholls on the advice of Stewart. I don't think DC has either the knowledge or the contacts at this level but wasting the most money we have spent in Donkeys years on a poor Billy impersonator isn't good. DC needs advice, but not from Stewart
