We've tried various combinations so why not give Dominic Telford a run in the team and see what he can do over 90 mins. Who knows he could give us something extra. Like the look of him when he comes on, lively looking player

Telford time some time ago, DC has to keep playing Nichols as good money was paid. Telford should be starting and taking on Bodin's role.

If we are going to persisit with 4-3-3... yes, Telford / Gaffers / Ellis should be the front 3.

Clarke has f**ked up again by signing Nichols as possibly a prolific goal scorer. He has got this wrong again, after the James fiasco he should learn from his mistakes. Which he does over time, but he keeps playing Nichols as he did James to justify to the owners he has made good signings, but this is to the detriment of the team. I'm over Nichols signing he won't score many goals, somebody needs to tell Clarke all managers make mistakes stop trying to flog dead horses we all make mistakes and move f**kin on.

I am old enough to remember Telford's Change ....
A 1979 BBC television series by Brian Clark which stars Peter Barkworth. The theme music was composed and played by jazz composer John Dankworth.
Barkworth played a bank manager, Mark Telford, who took a backward step in his career in order to retreat from the rat race. He relinquished his job in international banking and became a local branch manager in Dover. Telford's wife Laura (played by Hannah Gordon) and son Peter (Michael Maloney) remained in London. Keith Barron played Tim Hart, Laura's theatrical colleague who was keen to have an affair with her, and with whom she did have a brief liaison. In order to win back his wife, Telford gave up the Dover job and returned to international banking. The series was created and sold to the BBC by Barkworth himself and a group of colleagues (including Mark Shivas) through a company called Astramead.
Telford's Change consisted of only one series of ten episodes

I notice both Ellis and Dom Telford (despite his limited time on the pitch) are on 4 bookings according to the FA disciplinary website. Cut off is 30th November, so it is fairly likely that we'll have to lose one or both for a game.
Chris Lines is also on 4 bookings.
I would agree with the OP, that Telford has looked sharp on every appearance.

A bit short for a centre half though?

I would have both Telford and Nichols upfront and play the ball on the ground....
But then we would have to drop Tom Lockyer because he cant pass the ball on the ground either...

In fact that was on 4 before his booking at Rochdale so he misses the franchise this Saturday; we will hopefully be seeing more of Telford, but, missing Ellis' aerial work in attack and defence, Gaffney will start (probably.)

Correct. At the time of my post, it seemed like the FA suspensions site had been updated after the Rochdale game, but it obviously hadn't. The link below confirms that Ellis is suspended for the MK Dons game. www.thefa.com/football-rules-governance/discipline/suspensions

As you can see I don’t comment very often, but I would like to suggest a radical solution to our striker problem on Saturday ,how about giving Broadbent a game upfront. He is very good under pressure and of course useful for the long game, his height would cause problems for the MKD defence, play Telford up front to convert the numerous knock downs from the big guy..iIt would help the Gas play the long and short game, your comments please.

Horses for courses, I'm afraid, yer man is still learning to be a CH. The squad is large enough to play 'specialists' so there's no need for such a radical move and let's face it one that would smack of desperation. Mitch Harding had to play as a forward because of shortages and we got nothing, Virgo was lost up front.

I would possibly consider playing Broadbent up front if we were one goal away from promotion and it was past the 90th minute.

Wouldn't surprise me if dunwald gets the nod ahead of Telford more of a presence in the air which Clarke prefers.

unless I am missing something, I am pretty sure Gaffney and Nicholls will start.
in fact I would be tempted to put Sinclair behind them and have him pressure the opposition high up the pitch and then it would be Clarke, Lines, Sercombe in midfield
