Great performance today despite the result. Yeah right, what was the objective, fall over as often as possible, hit at least half of your clearances out of play and hit the first man with every cross?

I wasn't all that impressed either. He did some things well but was exposed badly a few times too, was often too quick to slide in during the 2nd half and cost us a goal through naivety.
I saw enough to think he's got the potential to be a good player, but I thought today wasn't his day. I'm astonished that the majority seem to think he starred.
The fact Lee Brown isn't in the team disappoints me.

He looks promising, but he dived in a lot, where Brown (or any more experienced player) would have stood up and made it more difficult for the opposition. If anyone starred it was Ellis again, who looks strong, doesnt look for the foul as much and looks dangerous

I thought Ellis was a real handful for their defence. Nicholls just is too light weight and I really can't see him being the answer. I thought it was a good game for 70 mins or so with two teams giving it a real go. We were better in the first half but Oxford were better in the second half. I think it was Broadbent's fault for the goal with a poor pass, however, there were a few of our players who seems to slip on the grass on a regular basis that caused us problems at the back. On another day we might have won. Tough games over the next week. Let's hope we can get at least one good result.

Can we stop being nice about Ellis, Westcountrygas will never return!
I'd personally like to see Bola play left wing in front of Brown, if we're playing 4-4-2 that's our best option IMO.

Bola was the first person (of many during the game) to slip over in the first few minutes and I suspect there was too much water on the pitch, (yeh maybe a player should know the state of the pitch and have the right studs, but there was more watering once they had gone in after the warm up.)

He had the same problem last time I saw him, that time I thought it was, in part, because he was on the wrong side, and I agree, the pitch was too wet for the length of grass, but that doesn't explain his clearances going straight out for throws and his crosses being so poor. I thought we had some professional bloke managing pitch preparation now, surely he phones the manager well in advance to find out what's wanted for each game? Either way, I thought Bola was poor, I don't remember Lee Brown having a worse game.

I thought his clearances out were because he had no other options. It was safety first & broke their attacks up. But it's all opinions of course.

I agree I don't understand the love in he's getting in some quarters.Looks like what he is to me-a young player with raw potential but lacking a bit of confidence, composure and football smarts that come with experience.
