bloogas, I cannot blame the Board if we do not know whether or not money was available, I can only assume as £300,000 was wasted on Nicholls that he did have money available and he did say he was leaving some for January.Sacking him would be harsh but maybe he needs help in identifying quality players. For me there have been too many signings that have not come off. I have to concede that he does seem to behave in some respects as if we were still a conference side. My only real argument with you is that recruitment isn't that easy. I doubt Bristol is a magnet for players & we'd have to pay over the odds to lure players here. And I'm not precious about him, but what would we get in his place? Buckle,McGee,Ward, all over again? He does seem to be doing what Tann,Megson,Francis, did - build a team. There were several hundred players without clubs after deadline had passed you can't tell me the the majority of those would have jumped at the chance of signing for rovers if they were offered the chance I feel that we have increased the backroom staff heavily but have missed a trick by not appointing a chief scout and a few part time scouts as back up

Blueiris, Mainly because even though Clarke had a poor game not helped at all by his booking he still held his position which allowed Lines, Nicholls and Sercombe to do their jobs. Sinclair whilst giving 110% has no discipline in his game which means he runs everywhere but leaves huge gaps which others have to cover. As for Moore he did nothing but I can understand why DC made both changes. He should instil a bit more discipline into our players as our disciplinary record is far from good and so many yellow cards and red ones as well have been totally unnecessary. I dont agree with your "sinclair leaves gaps stuff" so we just totally differ on that. Ollie clarkes booking was stupid but i think gaffneys was just 2 players having a physical battle and rory got the yellow during that.

DC has made a rod for his own back, as do most managers who spend good money on a player. The chase for Nichols was so obvious that his price would have gone up, a fair wedge was therefore spent and expectations would have been high, but now, hoping he'll start scoring to save face, he cannot be dropped for some time (unless he comes good, which does not appear to be happening - jeez he can not even take a good pen.)

You don't know he can't take a good pen. You know he can take a bad one.

Possibly because they weren't very good? Too old? Had injury problems? Had attitude problems?

When I don't understand something, sometimes i think I'm a moron. I don't understand bringing Moore on. I think he switched to a normal 4-4-2 formation with sercombe on the left and moore coming onto the right side in the hope of exposing tiring defenders to a natural winger. Trouble is it didnt work this time. Of course my theory could also be moronic.

Given Oxford were starting to control the game DC had to got 4-4-2 so Moore was the obvious choice, although I don't know why fans blame him for the goal as he was tackled and the ball eventually finished up at Locks feet who can have lumped it forward rather than simply passing it to Broadbent, who could have also lumped it. Regardless Telford could have put us 1-0 up if he hadn't mis-controlled the ball when put clean though, a win would have put us 6th but SteveK thinks we should be thinking about replacing DC!!

SteveK thinks we should be thinking about replacing DC!! Does he though? SteveK clearly can write for himself, but I read only that 'maybe' DC needs more help with regard to scouting and recruitment. I do not think I agree with that, but I have missed anyone suggesting managerial replacement.

recruitment this season. nichols sercombe broadbent smith sweeney bola telford meanayese
the biggest signing hasnt started his rovers career that well its true but for a modest outlay that looks like decent transfer activity to me. There is no big budget There is no big budget I put that twice for effect in case anyone imagined there was a big budget. There isnt.

DC was correct, we’re only ever two defeats away from a disaster. Pathetic talk floating around yet again, questioning signings/standard of quality etc...where was all this chat last week?! As a friend commented, this place is deserted after a decent couple of wins. Lose one, it’s on fire.

this place is deserted after a decent couple of wins. Lose one, it’s on fire. I think it's natural to express more vehement and voluminous opinion after a defeat. There is just always more to say about one's concerns an worries. But you're right of course; we should chill out and take a longer view. We will all disagree with some decisions. But individual players can finish the season before I make my own judgements. And the recruitment in general too I will form my opinion on in May. By that time we may even be above where we finished last season. Gradual upward progression from 10th in the third division with good football? Yes thanks. Nothing is wrong right now for me.

We are an average thid division team. Sometimes we will win and sometimes we will lose. Sometimes good, sometimes poor.
I am happy to enjoy that now after years of dross.
I certainly wouldnt turn down promotion or the play-offs but the championship is a massive jump, and i think we need to be ready to have a proper go at it
Some of the moaning about budget and recruitment is as boring as f right now. I can only imagine the s*** that would get spouted if we were struggling in the championship about having no money etc
People worry about DC leaving if the club dont do x,y,y. If he keepa doing well he will be gone anyway and its how we replace him that matters
