Hey Padstow You've really sold the BRSC to me. Where do I sign-up to this fun and tolerant group of like-minded men? You have got to be in it to change it, as you say Enlightening. Will Joe 90 be nominated for election as new Supporters Director, as he is just the type of new blood I was referring to. Move on. Poor Padstow and Harry, their day is about to get worse Here are the 10 reasons the the SC thinks it exists; Bristol Rovers Supporters Club exists with the following ten main aims:
To provide services to members and supporters; these services comprise retail sales, match ticket sales, season ticket sales and travel to all Bristol Rovers away fixtures
To provide benefits to members; these benefits comprise category two ticket sales for all ticket league games, all ticket cup games and cup or trophy or promotion play off semi final and final games
To organise quiz nights and other social events for members and supporters
To organise twice yearly question and answer forums for members at the Memorial; the forums will be held in the Autumn and Spring and attended by guests from the Bristol Rovers Board of Directors to include the Chairman and from the Bristol Rovers football management staff to include the manager
To organise question and answer forums for branch members to be held locally; the forums will be attended by guests from the Bristol Rovers Board of Directors to include the Chairman and from the Bristol Rovers football management staff to include the manager
To provide news and other communications to members and supporters; the means for communication to comprise two pages in the Bristol Rovers match day programme, the official Bristol Rovers Supporters Club web site, Facebook, Twitter, e-mail, newsletters and an annual pre season magazine. In hard copy
To support the Football Club on match days with volunteers to sell the official Bristol Rovers match day programme
To support the work of the Bristol Rovers Disabled Supporters Association (DSA)
To organise and present annual awards to comprise Clubman of the Year, Player of the Year, Young Player of the Year and Academy Student Player of the year
To raise funds to support the Football Club; the Supporters Clubs are sponsors of the Bristol Rovers Youth Academy and shareholders of the Football Club with a 6% holding and with a legal agreement for members to elect two persons to the Board of Bristol Rovers Football Club
So there you have it guys, from the horse's mouth, the benefits which are just for members are stated as such, but they say themselves that they are there to provide certain services for supporters who are not members, as such it's more than reasonable for non-members to comment on how the organisation is run. Sorry Padstow and Harry, but I think that, as Harry thought it was clever to say, shoots your arguments down in flames. Have a nice day

The disparaging comments from the 'War Hero' and the 'Super Scout', sums up the SC perfectly. Perhaps they'll be an open top bus to celebrate their demise, should that ever happen.

Bus parade wouldn't happen if it were left to the SC to organise, they, and their acolytes, would probably be too busy holding a committee meeting to decide on the name of the new committee they should form to oversee the formation of the committee to discuss new committee structure for winding down their committees.

At the last AGM they were asked to publish details of meetings with minutes for greater openness and transparency in the light of the 'missing money'. They said they would consider this!? I've never seen any details of meetings of OUR SC.

Nowhere the wording of members and sup porters is a phrase used to qualify which members so sorry your euphoric post is misplaced

The text clearly states "members and supporters" in several places. By using both words it implies that members and supporters can be two separate and distinct things. Although obviously not exclusive; a member, will under the vast majority of cases be a supporter, but a supporter by definition does not have to be a member.

I have checked the constitution of BRSC before - a key extract [the objects]: 2.1 To create and develop active support and lively interest in the activities of Bristol Rovers Football Club (“BRFC” and encompassing any future name changes of the Company), Bristol Rovers (1883) Limited or any subsidiaries, and to enable BRSC members to obtain the maximum pleasure from such support and interest. 2.2 To arrange transport to away matches for BRSC members. 2.3 To cater for the social interests of BRSC members. 2.4 To encourage a high standard of sportsmanship and understanding of Association Football. 2.5 To give BRSC members a formal medium of approach to the BRFC Directorate via the BRSC Executive Committee and the elected Director(s). 2.6 To render assistance and support to BRFC in particular and football in general by every possible means. 2.7 To support and develop further projects usually associated with Supporters Clubs such as the BRSC members agree upon. 2.8 The provision and maintenance of club premises at 199 Two Mile Hill Road, Kingswood, Bristol and any further premises acquired by BRSC. 2.9 To operate BRSC on a professional basis including its activities and its assets in accordance with the wishes of its members. 2.10 To administer the BRSC Share Scheme (“BRSCSS”) and to endeavour to ensure that in all things BRSC, BRSCSS and BRFC act in accordance This looks very different to the consituation posted by b.g.earlier

I have supported the club for some 50+ years i can say at no time have i ever felt the need to use the SC or its facilities. The only facility i ever use is the club shop at the mem, is that owned or staffed by the SC ?. I do buy 50/50 tickets, but after the distressful attitude they treated one of their "volunteers" i have stopped buying them. If i represent the majority of supporters who do not care what the SC is or do, is there any future in such an organisation that can let £100,000 disappear from their books and not notice it for some time.... The sooner the club disassociate its self from these people and put in place an organisation fit for purpose the better the club will move forward

Sorry Padstow and Harry, but I think that, as Harry thought it was clever to say, shoots your arguments down in flames. Have a nice day Bambi ......Sorry but I cant see how you reach the conclusion members and supporters are two distinct things...supporters members are card carrying individuals who have paid to join such an established longstanding club.
Your insight into an organisation who raises substantial funds and provides members who volunteer each matchday who you condemn is not valid and incorrect.
As I keep stressing the Football Club would be much worse without these individuals and their "supporters members"
BSS and Masters represent them at the board meetings and not NON MEMBERS .....sorry to disappoint you and others. Have a super day.
ps Just to clarify I have been a BRSC full member since 1969 and a season ticket holder pretty much from 1974 to date. I am and still am a share scheme member( bronze ) since it started. Also was in helpline for 12 seasons or more. But I admit I do not always buy 50/50 tickets. Happy to have contributed significant sums to BRFC & BRSC. So now you now.
