Never started a thread before but have just noticed on the BBC website that the draw for the third round of the League Cup will be at 04:15 on Thursday morning BST in China! To fit in with far eastern audiences I presume. What contempt the EFL must have for fans and supporters in this country. Just another chipping away of our football heritage. The EFL are getting like the PL in ignoring the fans in this country but pandering to overseas sponsors. I'm sure it will go largely unnoticed but it really annoys me. So set your alarm clocks......not. We probably won't be involved but I wonder what the draw will throw up, Fulham or Bristol Rovers v Shanghai United? Rant over! UTG!

Well it's just a fantasy of Football League Executives isn't it -honestly Crewe vs Burton will be massive in Shanghai......
To be honest it mainly points to how bad the current profile of the League Cup is that they have to resort to this sort of thing in order to secure sponsorship for it. I think the days of the 'Coca-Cola Cup' are long gone.

It'll be hilarious if the big boys draw a minnow as it'll leave a continent largely confused!
Agree with op, almost every change is made without due consideration of the normal footie fan. The irony is, I'm usually up and around that time of the day!

I preferred it when we had the Rumbelows Cup draw held in the footballing hot bed of New York, conducted by such soccer heavyweights as Donald Trump.

we should be more concerned with the Checkatrade draw a real chance to progress to a Wembley Final Checkatrade Trophy Group Stage — Key Stats - More than 15,000 fans witnessed the first week of the 2017/18 Checkatrade Trophy campaign - The new ‘ABBA’ penalty format was trialled in four of the seven matches - Notts County were the only EFL club to pick up three points — Luton and Plymouth earned two - Manchester City and Fulham's U21 sides grabbed two points on their Checkatrade Trophy bow; Spurs U21 took one

Personally think its a good idea to draw in China. I lived there for almost 10 years and was surprised with how many people knew lower league teams. Showed some of my mates gas highlights and they loved it!

Always had a soft spot for the Associate Members Cup e.g Wembley 1990 and Cardiff 2007 ....beating City82 at the Mem with that amazing Lambert goal lives long in my memory.
Also enjoyed the Glos Finals too until Gerry Francis disrespected the competition and put out the kids.

So you did enjoy our time at Twerton getting to Wembley in 1990.

This a balmy, I could accept say a 9am in the UK draw but 04:15am draw means virtually nobody in the UK will watch the draw live, it seems they are 7 hours ahead of us so the draw will be at 11:15am in China, which can hardly be peak viewing time there anyway.

What on Earth does it matter? It's like Christmas Eve, we go to bed wondering who Fulham or we get in R3 and we find out when we wake up.

If you don't think it matters then fair enough but I think it does insofar as it shows how little the EFL considers the home fans. Just as I dislike what they've done to the FL Trophy (Checkatrade as is) this is another chipping away, who knows what we might be seeing next! UTG!
ps astaf, supporting Rovers is not like Christmas Eve, it's been more like going to the dentist with occasional weeks off!😀

What on Earth does it matter? It's like Christmas Eve, we go to bed wondering who Fulham or we get in R3 and we find out when we wake up. Surely it matters as it's a slippery slope to round three games being played in Asia or America with fans being left out in the cold or paying £000's to travel.
