Your guy was Danny. Gavin was from City via Yeovil, and should have stayed there. Perhaps astaf but he scored a late winner at Yeovil and we haven't done that too often! Think it was 2011 when we went down but it might have been 2010, haven't checked. 😀 UTG! A futile win in a futile relegation battle, so he gains no credit in my book!

Up until you have been every goal and win is important and you need to keep fighting and after that win we had a good chance. I can imagine what we'd all say if there had been no fight. Not that I really disagree with you over him and have no great like of him, after all he didn't even celebrate if I remember! UTG!

He'd have had to single handedly have kept us up to even begin to move down my s*** list but at the time I was grateful for the goal at Yeovil, of course.

And at the same time Conrad Logan in goal, now he was a good keeper and put heart and soul into his time on loan even if we did go down! And he knew how to celebrate! UTG!

Gavin Williams may not have celebrated that goal, but, he got into the six yard box to knock it over the line. I'd give him credit for that.

You should join the Conrad Logan appreciation society of Hibs fans - this is a real thing! They gave me my favourite moment of last season. Logan was some kind of cult hero at Hibs and having moved onto Rochdale a minibus load of Hibs fans came down to Spotland to watch him in their game against us. They even sponsored the game. The twist was that Logan has been having a bad trot and was left out of the starting lineup on the day in favour of a debutant! The response of the Hibs fans was hilarious - they gave this poor guy a ton of abuse and, because they were obviously in the home end, this didn't go down too well and a few of them were chucked out. The whole thing was wonderfully ridiculous and could only happen in English/British football!

Yes Irish, I seem to remember something about that. He was a whole hearted player from what I remember with a gift I think for saving penalties and making spectacular saves. Didn't Hibs want to keep him but he decided to move on? Hibs or Rochdale...that's a hard one. Think he's joined Steve Evans at Mansfield with Scott Shearer, so both ex-Rovers keepers.

Greatest respect to 'the home of Co-Operation' but given the choice between living in Edinburgh and living in 'the Dale' I know which I'd pick. Kind of shows the mess that Scottish Football is really in though if a club the size of Hibs can't even compete for wages with Rochdale.

Logan made four appearances for Hibs; 2 in the Scottish Cup and 6 in the League and Playoffs. He made his debut in the Cup Semi-Final, his first appearance for 16 months, overweight, under trained and frankly out of shape. He was mocked during the lineups on twitter for his figure and many joked he'd won a competition. Logan gave a Man of Match performance making a string of saves during the match and saving two Dundee United penalties during the shoot-out. Logan also started the final in which Hibs won their first Scottish Cup for 114 years beating Rangers 3-2 with Logan playing solidly. For the semi-final though he's become a true cult hero at Hibs. They love the Polar Bear.

Shame - I thought maybe he was a massive fan of Gracie Fields.

I don't know much about Scottish football Irish and even less about Rochdale as a place! What has been noticeable over the years is how poor the relative standard of football in Scotland has become. Motherwell and others in the SPL have recruited a lot of players from the Conference/ National league in England and the players have done well in Scotland. This has always seemed a bit of statement about the relative strengths or weaknesses of the Scottish and English games when players do so well in Scotland but seem to want to play in England again as sooon as they can. Trevor Carson the Hartlepool keeper moved down to Scotland when Hartlepool went out of the league was another example. I guess one of the arguments that old dinosaurs like me do like is that clubs in Scotland pay what they can afford and don't over-pay so it's a more realistic wage structure up there where players don't get the earth when they are not very good. Down here even mediocre players seem to get thousands a week. We might moan about the standard of Scottish football but perhaps the clubs live within their means which we like but then we make jokes about the standard. We can't have it both ways! Having spent a lot of time in the Manchester area in the late 70s I know that there are some good places to live up there within easy reach of other places, not just Rochdale or other centres which might not be so good. UTG!
