So if I'm Steve west I get shot of Marshall as a sign of good faith, and try to find out from wael what it was that I missed Meanwhile nh will be kept out of all loops, and won't be seeing his loan repaid anytime soon? His final payment is due to be paid next month. Maybe he will have a few opinions to express then?

That's true. The problem is, football in England is so competitive that if you aren't progressing off the pitch, you are in danger of becoming obsolete.
And, of course, there's the question of what happens when the money runs out, as it always has int he past.
I have heard this argument a lot lately and I can't get my head around it. Managers come and go, players come and go. There will be ups and downs along the way but unless we get some decent facilities there is no hope of us establishing ourselves in the Championship and beyond. DC has made great progress, but I'm not sure when mid table league 1 warranted the phrase never had it so good. There is only so far you can go when you have 2 tents as stands.Calm down, you're 2 tents.

No one has given any thought about the other side in this deal. Wael and Hamer obviously had their hands tied giving those interviews, they new the reasons, but non disclosure agreements forbid them speaking openly. The man on the other side, Bill Marshall Senior negotiator for UWE, his telephone sound board throughout the negotiations with Dwane Sports, NH. When the deadline was broken, first call he made, NH. Is it any wonder there was a leak. Marshall is the man they refer to one step forward and four back. His boss Steve West is really hacked off, reason for his surprise interview the day of the announcement. Marshall is kacking himself, the deal was ready to be done several times only for this herbert thinking he was Donald Trump to flunk it ! No consolation really but he's toast at UWE Do you think that Wael held that interview with the permission of Hani?

However there is something missing from the current state of affairs and this could be the explanation. Something isn't right with what we have been officially told.

DC has made great progress, but I'm not sure when mid table league 1 warranted the phrase never had it so good. There is only so far you can go when you have 2 tents as stands. It reminds me of when Gerry Francis left and his comments on the club, at that time. Iirc, he said that he had taken the club as far as he could, given the ground we played in and the money available. He also said that he felt the bubble had been burst by attaining the league in that season and by getting 2nd tier football. I was one of the few who wasn't either surprised nor angry. It was a no brainier. A job at QPR and all that came with it or the eternal struggle at our club. I feel we are now at that stage only at a tier lower than then. I am not giving it Billy big 80llox but I did say that we would have the moaning if we were in L1, when we had just started to show some for when in the season of shame, though it has to be said I really enjoyed that one season. Anyway, I will wait and see and hope. It's the bloody hope that kills. A good result V Posh tomorrow will make things better and hopefully we can get into talking football and maybe I need to lay off of the other stuff as it's honestly getting me down now

I'm confused now, the new poster InsideUWE is stating that he is the source of the stadium collapse and you are saying he is a Gashead, even though he has listed himself as being part of the Bristol Sport Advisory Group, unless I am massively mistaken and this advisory group is something like a group for sport in Bristol in general, difficult to pick the bones out of it as it doesn't have an internet presence that can easily be found, except for a FOI request via BCC which was eventually rejected by BCC, all very intriguing. As a finance director, do you know him well enough to confirm if he is related to the finance director at Bristol Sport with the same surname, or is that just a coincidence?

Glass half full? Some recent posters don't even seem to have a glass. I had a glass I would lend the full value of it to myself, then put a charge against it, just in case.

Please let's not muster for a witch hunt. It doesn't bring a new stadium any closer and is a bad thing.
He's probably a very competent finance director, who (quite rightly) seeks to act in the interest of UWE. He almost certainly isn't directed in his job by some arch nemesis as part of a wicked international conspiracy against Bristol Rovers.

Brief summary of G20man interview. Family are all in agreement. UWE was not in best interests of BRFC. Wael is here for the long haul. Very important for clubs to own their own ground. He still gets my vote.
Edit: forgot to say, funding is not a problem.

He still gets my vote. Did he explain why it matters if you own the land outright or have a lease on it that would last well over a hundred years, and even then, you could renew at the end of the term? To give some context, most League clubs are around 125 years old. Apart, of course, from one local one, which has no history at all.

He intimated that in recent history clubs which have not owned their own grounds have encountered problems. My general football knowledge is not good so I couldn't guess which clubs he was referring to or what problems those clubs may have had. The more knowledgeable on here may be able to enlighten me? What I have taken from the interview, as a personal interpretation, is that the UWE deal can't have been that great for BRFC if the Mem redevelopment offers more. Time will tell, of course. For now I'm remaining positive.

No witch hunt I agree but from the facts we have there is clearly something missing as the official statements from the two parties appear to somewhat contradict. Until that is sorted out there will always be speculation and conjecture. The very least we should expect is the true position as how can that be a "confidentiality" issue?

What next, incorporate a huge supermarket and say it'll be good for the local butchers / fruit and veg shops?

It is groundhog day. Not sure what we can do about it other than wait and see what happens from here. He talked again about the experts we have lined up for the redevelopment plan and how they are skilled at also dealing with local communities. He referenced the previous pp we had incorporating student flats and a hotel. Other than that, no real meat was put on the bones. Most likely because the meat isn't there at the minute.
