Try yoga, maybe a bracing walk in the hills, or just eat a yoghurt.*
He was here; he went. Like countless before him.
We're more than one player. Obsession about one player is wasting time and emotion and selling us short. Who cares where he went or where he's sitting? He did a job for us, like many others; now onto the next. Onwards and upwards: look forward not back. Abandon hope all who think the best is in the past (especially in our case). He's off the radar. This is a dead parrot.
* If none of the above helps, there's always colonic irrigation, or Dude Lebowski might have a friend of a friend who can sort you out with something organic. Whatever, just purge it and move on.

Its a bloody shame he didnt go to birmingham or brentford. I have no hate towards him frankly but if he went to any other championship club i think he would have been an all time great rovers player[relative to our demise into non-league].

I'll never understand how people can be so hateful of players and clubs and especially over football of all things.
Yes, yes, Bristol City are our rivals, yadda yadda. Then let's hope to beat them in a game and have a laugh instead of sweating in anger over a b***h move they did a season ago. It's way past the time to be wondering about that now.
And also let us not forget that footballers who live and die for their clubs are a rare breed - and that's ok!! it's a job.

What does obsessing about 'him' achieve? [Rhetorical question: answer nothing, debatably something negative, neither of which is any use to anyone]

Very sad really

Very sad really I get the sentiment. It's what dropped us out of the league. It's not about 'them', where 'them' can be someone local, someone else near the bottom of 'div 4' or whatever, basically anyone on our radar; maybe a former player, or a current player who doesn't suit (let's be frank, a player who doesn't suit someone who watched their club drop out of the league). Stop pointing outwards. It's about us.

I hope this is a load of bollocks, Keg. In my eyes The Snake is not welcome back at the club as long as I live. Others can take a soft option trying to understand his circumstances and excuse or defend him as much as they want. Football is not about trophies or fuelling the spoiled lifestyles of filthy rich athletes, it is about loyalty and honouring the beautiful game for your club and the diehard fans who turn up week in week out to watch them. I would sooner cheer Ian Huntley playing for the Gas than Matty Taylor now. Seriously.

It's a weirdity of football that the opening and last few games of the season get a load more attention than a fixture in September with the same number of points on offer. Going with that, have Charlton ever heard of M Taylor? Aren't they more interested in the team we put out then and the result we get? So isn't that what we should focus on? I can't see how I'm wrong to be interested in players that we've got, rather than obsessing about players that we used to have.

I would sooner cheer Ian Huntley playing for the Gas than Matty Taylor now. Seriously. Who said anything about "defend"? Some of us just aren't so invested in players that we have to prosecute them - or defend them - for things that happen all the time in modern football. I also have major doubts about most "diehard fans", especially the ones in the BRFC fanbase; going by the past few weeks in online forums and groups, all I've seen is "diehard fans" slagging off players before they sign, throwing a fit over not signing Ricky f***ing Miller, wishing players would die or get killed, calling them sweet little names like "retard" or things of that nature like they've no consequence... not to mention the diehard fans who got us a nifty little fine for shouting racial abuse during a match a few years ago. Basically, it goes both ways, no? Fans aren't loyal to most players; in return, most players have learned not to be loyal to those fans either. Whether or not Matty Taylor is or isn't a welcome person wherever has no meaning to me, I liked him while he did his job for us, now he's gone and he's shown where his priorities lay with that move - good then, go in peace, have a blast or whatever.

Can't believe he's even got his own thread.
Scrap it and start again with Sir Tom of Nichols, goal machine in waiting.

interesting viewing this thread on a desktop and a pad. On the desktop the symbol in the thread title looks like a snake, on the Ipad it looks like a turd. Such versatility in modern technology...

Bear in mind also that he betrayed (or whatever word you want to use) DC & his teammates - they might at least have got into the playoffs had he stayed. Most of all though - I'm not convinced he's really that good.
