Third Division South (Now League One)Champions, two top six Second division (Now Championship) finishes. Two FA Cup quarter finals and five Glos Senior cup final wins.

Obviously the team of the 1950"s was the clubs best but the turn around from non league despair to decent league 1 team in a short space of time puts the current manager in a very small group of rovers managers in terms of success.

He hasn't left, and his post match interview yesterday was largely about what's needed for next season.
If he goes it'll be because the board aren't able convince him that he can fulfil his ambitions at this club.

Why are you so sure it is goodbye? Not proven yet and a big risk for any club who are looking to rebuild as not as yet dealt with being given funds to buy players of a higher level. I reckon we will see at least one more season of DC.

Um, heard the DC interview on official site......where has this thread come from? He's gutted about the result, pleased his expectations exceeded mine, in as much I think this season has been great and a stepping stone for next seasons improvement. Do I think DC suggested anything other than onwards in the interview, nope.

Chill out, blueiris unless that is what you really want?
Op is panicking imo.
But, if dc chooses to jump ship, he will go with most of our blessings and good luck wishes (unless he chooses one particular club!).
The club is bigger than one person, and I choose to follow the club, not the manager (whom by the way, has had more backroom and management staff to support him in the entire history of the club).
Supposition and no base of fact from op, time to move on at this time.

Read your history.... he took over a Rovers in disarray. The Directors sold their only asset, Eastville stadium during the War as they were in debt and had no funds to buy players hence the no buy no sale policy. He had to produce local young players and won the Club's first ever football league championship just two years after taking over.
No play offs in 1955 and 1958 when they finished sixth in Second Division.

That's great Mike. Why don't you take a few pictures off the internet and write a book about it?

Darrell Clarke is undoubtedly the best manager Rovers have had since I've been supporting the side.

PS So Dc told his players to lose against Chesham and Barrow then ? I doubt that very much ..he hates to lose any game

If Bert Tann was so good why did fans want to send him to a war zone? You never hear anyone wanting to send DC to Syria.
Grow up.
