I know some people love it and some people are not so in love with it, but with the Gas stepping into a new era, a more professional era no doubt, should we consider a update of our badge. Weather it's the City crest, a badass looking Pirate or a simple Skull & Crossbones, maybe now is the time to freshen things up?
I think i read somewhere that WAQ said if the fans wanted it, it's something he would consider.

Kill this thread asp, not trying to be undemocratic or censoring, but one bright idea follows another then we'll be called The New Era XI, play in polka dots, Captain Gas will become Traffic Attendant Bert, the Blackthorn will be the Memmy Mc Standface Stand and pasties will be replaced with egg and cress sandwiches with extra mayo.
It causes ill feeling between fans over an issue where there is none - look at Everton's badge change.

I wouldn't be against it myself but I can see your point.

There have been 3 badge designs at least since 1967 when I first watched Rovers. I have a small collection of metal lapel badges, mostly the Bristol crest design as its my favourite, none with the pirate. I hate the present day badge with a passion,I dont own any item with that badge on it and I will never buy one. I bought some Hats and T shirts from Retro Rover with the old style club crest and people have made positive comments about the badge when I have worn them, mostly from old cnuts like myself of course.

No need, other things to do. Why do something that's really not needed? UTG!

I'd like us to change it to Homer Simpson in a Rovers shirt strangling Bart in a City shirt.

Ah, we just need some hashtags on the shirt, y'know like the other lot have! Classy!
Joking aside, I really like the current badge and I'm always quite surprised it divides opinions so much, it gets a lot of compliments from other supporters.

Surely a female pirate such as Anne Bonny, Mary Read, Sadie the goat, Queen teuta of illyria, The Lioness Of Brittany, Anne Dieu-Le-Veut or to extend the diversity: Sayyida al Hurra, full name Sayyida al-Hurra bint Ali ibn Rashid al-Alam. Although I would draw the line at the Caibbean female pirate, Back From the Dead Red.

Agree with everything said here! Think the time to change would be when we move to UWE as part of a new marketing campaign imo.
