Sorry but I still cannot see how James can be our lead striker. He is light weight and is too easily bundled off the ball, does not get stuck in and just does not look like a threat. Not a great performance today but did enough to win (just) and have now got 60 points, so only four needed from the last five to beat Trollope's team, which is some achievement. Cannot see us getting in the play offs even if we did manage to win our last five games but I live in hope. 😁

Easter created more in his brief appearance than James did the whole match, think it's time to give him a rest, bar his shot which hit the post I can't recall him having a single decent shot on goal in his two games.

Is there a world record for most corners conceded by a single player in one game, and if so was it set by their number 12 today? If in doubt, put it behind.

As asty alludes to, Shrews were a basic outlet. Their physicality was the only thing that they relied on and I liked how our temperament (mostly) remained calm with their vain attempts to bully us.
Another home match we bossed.
Yet, even after down to 10 they managed to find space behind our rearguard to get shots away.
Just desserts for time wasting on 46mins from their keeps.
I thought Lumley played well again today. My m o m.
Bodin two well taken goals.
Lee Brown covered well. In one instance, his clearance acted as an assist!
Probably one of the better refs we've had this season.
Ollie Clarke hero that I'm sure they targeted. Sincs admirably replaced him, though I thought we lost our midfield impetus slightly, ad Stu almost injured himself early on with his over enthusiasm.
Finally, great shout for the attendance. Nearly 10,000. Amazing turn out and walk up on a match that so say doesn't mean anything. Well done!
Lovely weather capped a great day. Another 3points, Rovers playing well at home, all to play for as you just don't know... UptheGas!

Luke James has now made 13 starts and 13 as sub in all competitions for Rovers and no goals On 9 April it will be a calendar year since his last goal for Hartlepool on loan from Posh against Morecambe. He had 19 plus one sub appearance in that loan spell and just that solitary goal.
In that same loan season 2015/16 he spent half the season at Bradford City making just four starts and ten sub appearances in all competitions and failed to score.
He scored twice for Posh after his big money move in 21 starts in all comps plus 13 sub appearances.
For a striker his record is poor

Maybe he would do better dropping back to midfield or Peterborough. He is the snake without goals.

For a striker his record is poor Maybe - just maybe, if he put on about a stone in weight he might be able to stay on his feet - that might help a bit. He is so easily bundled off the ball. His only "trick" appears to be to go to ground and claim a foul. The only positive I can take from the situation - is how unbelievably supportive and encouraging Gasheads are given his undeniably appalling goal-scoring record.
