Next Tuesday (28th march) will mark three years for DC as our manager.
How are we feeling about him now?
Tip-top I'd say

The jury is still out for me. Yes, there's been some promotions and what you might call sustained improvement etc, but he also makes some strange selection choices, odd substitutions and Jamie Lucas is out on loan FFS.

I think we've got to look at the overall balance of things - OK so he has created a hard-working team that consistently plays good football now, but he was impotent and completely ineffective in stopping Snake joining 82

I didnt blame him for relegation and unlike every single manager before i didnt expect anything of him. He made me love watching football again, I cant wait for Saturdays and most of the time I feel like we can win every game rather than feel like we'd be lucky not to lose. This influence appears to extend to the team in the dressing room.

I don't like the the cut of his jib..... Someone once said to me 'I don't care how many World Player of the Year's Ronaldo wins - he's still a s**t footballer'. Made me think they hadn't quite grasped the concept.....

How do i feel?
All I can say is: If you can remember eastville? ...and/or twerton, dc has gone a long way to restoring our rovers back from the worse of the mem years.
If you can't remember the other two, then I guess you'll be even happier?
You have to give him time, his players time, his strategy time, but with that comes reward and respect.
He still makes mistakes. Not perfect, but for me,the best manager of the millennium.

Dc has improved the squad performance significantly particularly players like Leadbitter, Lockyer,O Clarke, Sinclair Bodin & Taylor.
Most of the goalkeeping signings over the past 3 years have been poor. Except most recently as Lumley looks quality.
The infrastructure of coaching/medical/analysis staff have improved and will prove a good investment which will hopefully improve performance further and Championship football.
DC's cup record is very poor Tranmere,Bath City,Chesham & Barrow defeats and poor results in JPT/Checkatrade.
Home league record has been remarkable. There was a time in his early days when he said players felt nervous playing at the Mem because of the fans expectations.
Bringing youth players through to the first team has been very disappointing. Ryan Broom ? Will he get a chance as Jamie Lucas did not. The use of Prem loan players Colkett and Clarke Salter have been successful and recent loanees Sweeney and Lumley have proven to be very successful.
The attacking style and use of subs has proven to be great entertainment and his team rotation has been a revelation.
Some of the permanent signings Puddy, Blissett, Gaffney & Moore have been questionable. Ellis Harrison has had periods of poor form but his goals did prove vital in the conference season and frankly has not reached his potential.
The Taylor replacement Luke James has yet to show us a goal return and for me the jury is out on several players Hartley, Montano, J Clarke and Harrison as if they should be retained.
It has been a memorable three years and DC must be soundly thanked for two promotions and ensuring those players give everything to progress the Club.

Why would Clarke leave now for a team like Norwich who the f are they anyway we are the team on the up its a no brainer. CLASSIC! However one day he will move on, hopefully once he has had another promotion with us. Leeds was a poisoned challis in the summer and I honestly think he made the right decision. the problem I see is DC has a squad that if rumours are true are one of the lowest paid in the division, he has managed to get them playing but what would he do if the players were paid a lot more?Look at the silly money spent south of the river. It is about keeping the group of players a TEAM and getting that ethos across. A championship team like Norwich will come knocking if he keeps it up (forget parachute payments) if he can get players to buy into his ethos he will do it. Leeds was a close call, I think his next move would be to am team in the top half of the championship with a bit of money. One last thing kegandeg, what have Rovers ever done? and what have Norwich done? now why is it a no brainer? average attendance approx 25,000. as for we are on the way up, they are 8th with games to go.

Very happy with where we are currently.
As for Clarke, maybe he fancies the challenge of Rovers IF things with the stadium pan out soon, but we all know how things change in football suddenly and if Clarke decides it's time to make the move then he will go with appreciation from all (I would hope)
I would like to think we have an idea what we would do if DC moved on. I'd like to think Stewart would take over especially if DC left while we were still in upward momentum to keep some sort of continuity

Unlike Leeds, I'd have Norwich as quite a good move-on prospect for him. On the other hand, I think a good case could be made, were I him, to stay put. A long term project, a seemingly good rapport with owners and fans, and potential to achieve more at a time when a new infrastructure is being built. As for budget, with markedly improved attendances, and a sense of not being far off, I think it's possible that might be increased this summer. Either way, he'd be operating in a market and at a level he's had a trial run with. He might also want to think about the Eddie Howe Paradigm.
As for an appraisal: level-headed, respected by his players and staff, attractive and ambitious football, willing to make and acknowledge mistakes to move things on. Just what the job needs, really.

I like this.
May I also suggest the Gareth Southgate Paradox, the Kevin Keegan Conundrum, the Bryan Robson Theorem and the Howard Wilkinson school of de-constructionism.
