Today against Scunthorpe United we equalled club record of five consecutive league draws
18 March 1967 – 1 April 1967 (D3)
1 November 1975 – 22 November 1975 (D2)
4 Feb 2017-25 Feb 2017 (Lg1)
ps Anyone recall last time Rovers players scored own goals inconsecutive matches ?

I'm pretty sure Justin Channing managed two own goals in the same game away at Wrexham?

Justin Channinng... a blast from the past. I only remember him for scoring a screamer against the sh*t - the first in a 4-0 win at Twerton I think. We went down that year, but no-one seemed to mind too much.

Own goals in consecutive league matches. Thought there was one other before yesterday against Scunthorpe ....the unfortunate Lindsay Parsons renowned for his amazing goal line clearances actually scored own goals on 9.01.1971 Rovers 1 Aston Villa 2 and 16.1.1971 Mansfield Town 4 Rovers 1.

I'm pretty sure that one of the other goals went in off Channing and the radio on the night called it as an own goal. Obviously the Press Association disagreed.

It's always eyebrow raising to see old league tales or fixture lists, so as dip samples, who were the five in a row against in the previous runs?

Quoting* from "Bristol Rovers FC A Complete Record 1883-1987" ('cos the print is larger than in the later "Definitive History" ): 18th March 1967 | Grimsby | H | 0-0 | 24th March 1967 | Bournemouth | H | 1-1 | 25th March 1967 | Walsall | A | 1-1 | 27th March 1967 | Bournemouth | A | 0-0 | 1st April 1967 | Peterborough | H | 1-1 |
1st November 1975 | Blackburn | H | 1-1 | 4th November 1975 | West Brom | H | 1-1 | 8th November 1975 | Notts County | A | 1-1 | 15th November 1975 | Plymouth | H | 0-0 | 22nd November 1975 | Sunderland | A | 1-1 |
* Both books are indispensable to any Rovers statto's!

It looks like Good Friday, Saturday, Easter Monday - book-ended by Saturdays. (I could google 'date of Easter 1967, but hey).
Interesting (to an extent) the way div 2 in 75/76 has dispersed centrifugally. Div 3 in 66/67 is more routine.
Thanks Macc.

Can you imagine PL players being asked to play March 24th, 25th, 27th, H A A , no doubt travelling in a cold coach with rock hard seats and a top speed of 55 mph.
Wenger would have a total breakdown, Ozil would be curled up in the centre circle crying.
