Everytime I watch the Football League show this guy seems to score so thought I'd do a bit of digging on him.
He was at Norwich and Brentford as a kid, but didn't make an appearance for either; played for a few non-league teams before becoming the next off Peterborough's non-league production line. He didn't really cut it there and loans spells at Daggers and Shrewsbury didn't massively work out either.
However 11 goals (no penalties) in 28 appearances for a very average Blackpool side is a tidy return and from looking at this YouTube clip he looks like he could be one to look at in the summer. He signed a one year deal with Blackpool last season so presumably available on a free.
6ft tall, good upper body strength, plenty of pace and looks like he's happy to run the channels and come deep to find space. Certainly looks a similar player to the s**thead snake, if not a bit more physical. He'll be 25 in June, so battle hardened but not beyond improvement.

And waiting, on his knees, hands clasped, and eyes directed heavenward, for the longed-for approach of the mighty Bristol Rovers!

Watching him on Sky now in Blackpool's playoff semi and impressed with him. Works hard off the ball, loves to come deep and link the play with his strike partner.
Think Gaffney with more pace, better footballing brain and a better goalscoring record. Has a beard too...

His career goal record is poor and last season he scored 2 goals more than rory in the league below.

A player who can defend a bit, link play up, play as a striker and will get double figures every year if given the games, and play in behind either a lone striker or a front 2, that's a lot to ask, there's always Jermaine Easter, just a thought.

His career doesn't really support the "will get double figures" part. Has he done it more than once or twice?

Maybe not earlier in his career, and not when playing at a higher level, but the player we had last season, in L1, given game time, why not? Just ignore me, I'm still baffled, Gaffney stays and Jermaine goes, I just don't get it?

I've seen Blackpool several times this season and for me their best player is Brad Potts.

Dont get the Vassell is better than Gaffney bit at all. Gaffney is a decent L1 striker. Vassell has yet to show he could be.

Not sure that Gaffers is a decent L1 striker. He'll certainly have some competition next year for his place up front.

Has beard too, the new prerequisite to sign for the gas 😂 Nice one fella, always happy with a post that gives I a laugh

Not sure that Gaffers is a decent L1 striker. He'll certainly have some competition next year for his place up front. I'm no football tactic brain nor do I get involved in the set up threads as I'm just not into it. I like it when we play exciting and attack minded football and a winning side is a confident side. I've always thought of Gaffney as a huge confidence player. I've always believed he will make the grade and that we've not yet seen his best, a long way off in fact. It's a shame his goals came at the wrong time. He's a good old fashioned marauding centre forward and that's how I like it. Remember he has been asked to come out to the right this past season. I firmly believe that if he given the service, around mid way in the opposing half, he will be a right handful. Also love it that he gets Irish fans travel to watch him. They obviously believe in him. I reckon we will see a good season from Rory this coming season

I hope Darrell and his staff have taken a look at Matt Godden, good record at Ebbsfleet and a very impressive season for Stevenage as well as an expiring contract, according to the always reliable Wikipedia.

I'be a feeling DC has had the help to get his wanted list a fair time ago. I just think he will be looking at more players with FL clubs this time but you just never know with him. He certainly does things his way
