The sectarian refers to the religious bigot supporters that infest only two clubs in the U.K. The glory hunting refers to the parasites that support a club because they are glamorous or win the league and cups a lot. There are feeble minded people all over Scotland that support the same two clubs and turn their back on and take the piss out of their local clubs. This latter phenomenon is not exclusive to Scotland obviously but it is why Scottish football is a joke where only one club (previously two and in the future two) can ever win anything meaningful. If the bigot brothers fc's ceased to exist the world would be a better place. Having lived in Scotland, this is all very wrong. Please do some research. Lived in Scotland for 8 years. It's totally correct IMO.

I didn't say it wasn't a 7 days a week Celtic pub, but it wasn't always a Celtic pub. When we first started going there it wasn't or at least didn't seem to be. Cannot abide the sectarian nonsense and glory hunting that sucks the oxygen from Scottish football. There is only one club in Glasgow that refused to employ people of a certain religious persuasion, and I'll give you a clue, it isn't Celtic, Partick Thistle or Queens Park Glasgow Rangers had Catholic players before Celtic were formed. From the 20s until the 50s there were few if any, but much of that was due to entrenched opinions after the Irish Civil War.

Hearts, Hibs, Dundee and Dundee United have greater or lesser "sectarian" edges to them. There's been numerous examples of this over the last decade. This can also be seen at other towns such as Hamilton having a large Catholic population and Falkirk a large Protestant one. I'd suggest that if you're going to go down this route then any anti-English/Welsh songs sung at games between English and Welsh clubs is Sectarian. Is calling someone a Taig, Hun, Tim, Fenian etc any worse than singing about Aberfan? What about supporters of Liverpool and Manchester United reveling in each others tragedies?
The glory hunting refers to the parasites that support a club because they are glamorous or win the league and cups a lot.
The only "Glory Hunters" in Scotland follow English top flight sides.
There are feeble minded people all over Scotland that support the same two clubs and turn their back on and take the piss out of their local clubs.
See above.

Since 2011 the Scottish Cup has only spent a year in Glasgow with Hearts, Celtic, St Johnstone, Inverness & Hibs winning the Cup. The old Rangers won the League Cup in 2011, since then it has been won by Kilmarnock, St Mirren, Aberdeen, Ross County and Celtic twice.
If the bigot brothers fc's ceased to exist the world would be a better place.
Rangers don't exist any more, so that's one gone.

Now we've totally threadjacked this maybe it should be moved to general chit-chat. Irrespective, I've been to quite a number of Dundee derbies as I lived in the area for four years and Lee Maddison played for them at the time. Despite United's original background in Irish immigration there is virtually no sectarianism in that rivalry. Plenty of hatred in a Rovers/City sense of course, getting to and from the ground wasn't exactly a heap of fun it has to be said. But not for sectarian reasons. Don't they even have a combined firm? Edinburgh clearly has a small level of sectarian influence but nothing like Rangers/Celtic and nothing I ever noticed on a day to day basis in four years of living and working in Edinburgh. Whereas the old firm sectarianism was rife and obvious in everyday life, even though I wasn't living in Glasgow! Tend to agree with you re glory hunting. But isn't that the point - many people are attracted to the Glasgow clubs because of their religious leanings rather than the glory of winning the league every other year. Certainly the strong impression I came away with as geography blatantly has very little to do with it. I've been to a lot of regional towns and villages on my travels around Scotland and almost without fail you can go into any given pub and find some bigoted twat in a Rangers or Celtic shirt talking pish and singing some sectarian crap by the end of the night before they stumble home in a comatose state. It sounds like a horrendous stereotype but when you've seen it that many times you believe it - it's just a part of the furniture all around the country. Not sure using the Scottish Cup as an example of the spread of Scottish football talent is going to get you many points though. When was the last time the league was won by anyone other than Rangers or Celtic? Fear not, I know the answer already... I do have a lot of respect for fans of other Scottish football clubs because it's a tough gig and I've met some top people around the grounds whilst I was living there. But the fact remains that in my mind, and I'm sure plenty of others, Celtic and Rangers are a cancer on the social fabric and the football development of Scotland and if they both disappeared overnight the only people crying would be celtic and rangers fans. You'll argue with that because I assume you are a celtic fan, but that will just prove my point!

I don't like the new design - looks a bit like the suspension bridge. I feel like someone could do better.

Thereafter, Catholic players prior to Mo Johnston's signing include: Laurie Blyth (1951–1952), Don Kitchenbrand (1955–1956), Hugh O'Neill (1976), John Spencer (1985–1992) (Bill Murray, The Old Firm – Sectarianism, Sport and Society in Scotland (John Donald Publishers, 1984) pp 64–5 I'm not after a row about which club has the bigger set of bollocks by the way.
