The respected poster on OTIB (I know, a respected City fan...) who usually gets the stadium stuff right has suggested that there will be an update in the next 48 hours (Friday basically). If I'm correct, he seems to think it will be a positive update from Rovers' point of view. Not counting any chickens at the moment though. Some communication will be welcome, the rumours are all over the place at the moment. What makes you think 'Kid in the Riot' thinks the update will be positive Gashead? I'll paraphrase to save the crudeness... KITR: Update in the next 48 hours City supporter 1: Am I likely to be happy or sad about it? KITR: The latter (i.e. good news for Rovers) City supporter 2: That's disappointing..

Nick is still on Holiday so i will be surprised any communication about the Stadium will be made without him being available for the Media

Come on basel, KITR has some loose knowledge & connections within the planning sphere, just as Henbury Gas has - but just because he got wind of the TRASH JR call, he seems to be treated as though he is Mystic Meg or Paul the Octopus. In the communications vacuum that we currently have it is no wonder that there is speculation, but don't give credit where there is none.

Oh right, thanks,i never read that part (obviously). The page before KITR was pessimistic about Rovers chances.

Fair enough Curly Wurly,i remember he hasn't got everything correct. Just trying to get some clues and after years of nonsense from the board, it's hardly surprising there are some "doubting Thomas'" around the place.

Good tactic that. Predict both possible outcomes and you'll be 50% right. Having said that can someone ask KITR who will win the Derby this Saturday. I've got just a few quid to spare.

Good point Curly Wurly, but this conversation on OTIB is not so easy to follow and at the end there's a poster "In the Net" keeping his fingers crossed the KITR prediction to be right. So is "In the Net" a fair minded City fan or a visiting Rovers fan. It's quite confusing. Goodness knows, for the moment I give up.

It would seem that KITR does have some sound contacts in the 'trade' - either building or, more likely, council/planning - and is regularly accurate with his info.

I hope that's right Phrench Phil, about "In the Net" being a visiting Rovers fan (that or he's a fair minded City fan). KITR has got a few things right,he is in the know to a certain extent it seems, but his record is not 100% right.

I ask again. What negotiations?
I thought everything was sorted and we are awaiting the rubber stamp from the English heritage thing.
Well yes and no. The final construction contract is not going to be signed off if no-one is sure of a start date and therefore an appropriate cost. That means the Secretary of State has to give the listing attempt a final no before everything can be signed off and the Sainsbury's money transferred.

Have South Glos CC announced any changes to the original planned build?
If not can we assume (the very notion,ha!) that if the build begins relatively soon, there are no changes forced by the money lost to the Trash-green protest?

No changes Bas, well none that require an alteration to the permission so far.

I've decided to take this as a positive.

Although, believe it or not, there are some fair minded City fans on there too.

With all these rumours flying about, including my post earlier which another Gashead informed me off, then it very clear that we need the club to come out right now with a statement on the current state of affairs. We also need to have a statement from Sainsbury's themselves on what is happening. This is now a right mess and it has to be sorted! Our club's future is at stake. Every one is treading us with comtempt and its got to stop. At this rate, someone will be calling for a boycott of attending matches involving Bristol Rovers Football club. Why are we supporting a football club who's board seem to be scared of making statements? Why are our views being ignored?

If there is no news yet was the point of saying we are still sorting the paper work etc. If a statement is coming soon why make another one a few days earlier to just say the rumours are rubbish.
