My BRAND NEW book, ‘Double Darrell’, is just out and is the antidote to obedient season reviews, with none of the hindsight that most writers rely on. It's a similar format to 'Print That Season!' but has been made even better. It’s a signed and numbered limited edition of only 274 books, so get it quick, before it's gone. Full details & a selection of the pages here If you don't want to read all the detail just go straight here and get yer pieces of eight out Why 274? Because that how many days we stayed in League Two this time - yes, just 274 days. It took Rovers 2,115 days to escape between 2001 and 2007. The BookRe-live Rovers’ great escape from ‘the easiest league in the world’ through a different approach; the warts and all meanderings of a Gashead (me!) who throughout the season penned a regular article available on the Bristol Post web site. What an astonishing season, a veritable roller coaster of a ride, and for the third year in a row the last game of the season became a decider; a nail biting afternoon of squirm. Starting straight after the nail-biting Wembley conclusion of a humbling season in non-league, revisit the ups and downs of another swashbuckling Pirate voyage through 45 sparkling and inventive articles, some of them previously unpublished, with none utilising the hindsight that most writers rely on. There are also details of each match, snippets of what else was happening that week at Rovers, QI stats, three special features, and eight pages of colour photos (mainly contributed by my fellow fans) plus a dozen or so colour photos in the ‘football by footpath’ adventures. To celebrate our new place in Division Three all copies will now come with: - a special promotion day postcard to wow your distant friends and family with,
- a 85 x 55 mm Bristol Blue Gas sticker to stick wherever you want (BS3 is always a good place), and,
- a 6”x4” photograph of one of the best photos featured on the cover of the book.
To keep it affordable most copies will be sold via myself, rather than in shops. If I allow it to also be sold in shops I'll add the info here, and on my web site. ALL for £9.99, including UK delivery.Summary- One man’s weekly meanderings throughout Bristol Rovers’ promotion campaign of 2015-16
- 192 pages, including 43 colour photographs
- Numbered limited edition of 274 copies, signed by the author.
- Printed in Wales by a nice old independent printer
- Family Friendly - No swearing, violence, racism etc
- ISBN = 978-0955471292
- R.R.P. = £9.99
- 21.0cm x 14.8cm (A5 size - 8” x 6” approx - same size as ‘Away The Gas‘ & ‘Print That Season!')
- Available here

Full details & a selection of the pages here If you don't want to read all the detail just go straight here and get yer pieces of eight out This is a PRE-SALE - the book will be landing with me circa 8th December; copies will be sent out straight away - many in the Bristol / Bath / North Wiltshire area will be hand delivered, using my own feet. The first 95 copies sold via myself will also get extra goodies (details below). Why 274? Because that how many days we stayed in League Two this time - yes, just 274 days. Hello Martin Always enjoyed reading your articles and considering buying the book. Just wondering if you'd considered making Kindle/ebook versions? No printing, no postage, cheaper for us, more profit for you.

Hello Martin Always enjoyed reading your articles and considering buying the book. Just wondering if you'd considered making Kindle/ebook versions? No printing, no postage, cheaper for us, more profit for you. thanks for the view. totally agree. I will after Christmas. Too busy at the moment. I wanted to do the other 2 in the summer as potential 'holiday reads' but had a lot of family stuff going on. I still love a printed book, and did this one as a printed book just to say I could / did - after all the hard work had gone into it. One reason I've been very slow on ebooks of all my books is because it rankles with me that people get them and stick them on the internet for free. Seems very unfair after the work a creative person puts into them. My US publisher does ebooks of my Banksy books over there and within weeks a mate had emailed me saying 'do you know that people are offering them on file sharing for free?'.

Thanks everyone.
Just to let people know that there are about 15 copies left of the first 95 copies (slightly more special - see above).
After that it's still all good though - just less goodies and a number of over 100.

Some copies are hitting people's mats today. Others going out in the post today and the next few days.
Still time for others to order - if in Bristol / Bath / North Wilts area it could end up plopping on your mat quicker than you realise...

Had mine sent to my daughters place and insisted my 82'r son-in-law bring it out with him in February. Something he could have used to while the time away on his journey over here, if he could read. I almost believed you until I reasoned that NZ don't allow in people with criminal records and surely all C*ty fans have one as long as their string vest...
