i expected better from a gashead thats a sort of comment i expect from a Ted Don't you think that your monotonous, puerile and pointless attempts to score some sort of virtual point, are ridiculous? Kevin was banned by Higgs (via our erstwhile safety officer) for criticism of the operation of the club and the shambolic approach to any aspect of planning for the future. Everything and more that he said has been acknowledged as the truth by the Chairman, the owners and even Darrell. If those of us who thought the banning was unjust have an agenda as you put it, it's probably based on perceptions of right and wrong. Nothing more, nothing less. Why don't you see who else you try and wind up, but instead actually think before you subject this website to more of your inane drivel, claims to be "in the know", or justifications for being an offensive reactionary, by posting 3 dots and a smiley?

I don't suppose there is any chance of never mentioning this again is there. I'm sick of it as are most other users of this and other forums. The only person who appears to have an Agenda is Henbury Gas and if he wants to carry it on in private he only has to ask as I spend two days a week in Bristol. Steve Hamer looked at the whole episode and within 5 days of becoming chairman lifted the ban without condition. As far as me and my family are concerned that was good enough for us and confirmed that the ban by Higgs was unjust.
I have just left a meeting with somebody who had a meeting with the new owners of the club and various players and there is a massive feeling that the club is at last going in the right direction. The staff are also feeling the same feel good factors. Let's all get behind that momentum rather than sniping and picking at old wounds.

Nothing to do with that at all.Alan was suspended over a complaint from a parent over the treatment of his precious little darling. He was subsequently cleared of the accusation and reinstated, but he decided that he could not work for a club who treated him in that way so did what any honourable man would do and resigned,to date he has nothing concrete but a few of us have been circulating his name to other clubs in an attempt to help him find a new post So the club should of just ignored the accusation,he was cleared and reinstated, exactly what should the club have done then. Not at all but feel it should have been dealt with in a much better way,for example what was wrong with bringing both parties together in front of the clubs investigators and heard both sides of the story, could have been sorted in a few hours not allowed to drag on for over a month with the stigma of no smoke without fire hanging over Alan,s head

How did they treat him Padstow? A suspension during an.investigation os standard procedurr in a lot of industries/employment. If He was cleared and allowed to return to work what is the problem? like for Mr Allardyce, this new professionalism doesn't sit easily with some ingrained habits and attitudes - the main aim of it is to get away from some of them
Allardyce was dealt with in a matter of hours, how long does it take to hear and decide on evidence

Allardyce was dealt with in a matter of hours, how long does it take to hear and decide on evidence probably axiomatically, it tends to depend. For a complex fraud case, blinking ages, for the result of a coin toss, nanoseconds
Allardyce resigned, which brought it all to a swift conclusion - no longer a need to hear and decide on evidence
my inference, based on posts since the original, is that both Mr Walsh and yourself believe that it was left to drag on unnecessarily. I really don't have any insight or view on that

Precisely, how long does it take to hear both sides of the story,if both protagonists are in the room at the same time, stating their case. But going on the responses to my post obviously I was completely wrong to make an implied criticism of how it was handled,

As for big sam resigning the FA had already made their decision by asking Southgate if he would run the senior squad for the following 4 games, thereby Sam was given the alternative resign or be sacked in the morning

the phrase 'he could not work for a club who treated him in that way so did what any honourable man would do' criticism of the club, and implied that he was treated dishonourably by the club or the club acted dishonourably
that any of the above is true seems unclear to me as a general forum reader. It might or might not be
and I'm not sure that putting both parties in a room at the same time is the best approach either
I hope Mr Walsh finds something good soon though

I would guess that The FA have directives in place to handle complaints within the youth system. If Rovers haven't followed the correct directive then I'm sure Alan will have grounds for constructive dismissal. I've known Alan since his first stint at the club running the community department and he is a tremendous human being. Hopefully he will be back in football again soon.

As for time you would hope it would be dealt with as soon as possible for all concerned, but a month does seem a long time unless lawyers were involved. Hope he is soon back to work and can put it behind him.

Putting both the whistleblower and the employee in the same room to argue about the matter is definately NOT a normal way of dealing with disciplinary issues. A month is certainly not an abnormal period of time to investigate this kind of situation - in my experience, a month is actually pretty quick.

2 points to make firstly football does not seem to be covered by employment laws, hence the number of sackings seen every season with no apparent disciplinary procedures followed and secondly it was not a whistleblower but a parent complaining his son had been sworn at,bet any 15 year old or over uses worse language in everyday speech than that which AW used

also, a parent complaining his son has been sworn at doesn't qualify as 'whistleblowing' unless it is something to which the club has inappropriately turned a blind eye/covered up - which is not at all clear from the allegation. 'Whistle-blowing' implies that the club has done wrong
if you mean that a parent complained about swearing, and that in your view the complaint was unjustified, that's fine, but like 'precious little darling' the use of 'whistleblowing' would appear to be your own constructions
