On Thursday 27th of October at 7pm the Bristol Room will host a presentation by former tough tackling right back David Pritchard.
Fans favourite 'Pritch' who made 163 appearance for the club, and whose football career was cut short by 'that tackle' from Titus Bramble has carved out a successful career heading up a sales team for Lawsons Sales and Lettings in Wolverhampton, having previously worked in the industry in Spain, Italy and Morocco. The presentation will chart his eight year career with Rovers, and the fondness he still has for the club to this day. In addition Dave will be talking about how he dealt with the end of his playing days, and establishing a new career away from football.
The event will also host keynote speaker, and long term season ticket holder, Nick Elston. An avid business networker with a Twitter following that Wael Al Qadi would be proud of, Nick will be delivering an impassioned and personal keynote speech on anxiety, a subject still taboo in many areas of business but conversely an emotion that everyone experiences at some level.
A Q&A session will follow, where Dave and Nick will take questions from audience members.
The event itself will host a clutch of local businesses with stands in the supporters bar where visitors can meet businesses owned or represented by Gasheads.
In conjunction with Bristol Rovers FC, the Gashead Network is run by a team of four supporters, who have created the UK's only football based business network directly serving the wider fan base.
Connecting across 3 social media channels, providing topical business news stories, fan content, local business promotion, sharing business ideas and money saving solutions.
The networks aims are to create a greater community of businesses owned by the club supporters for the clubs supporters.
This is a relaxed and informal event for anyone interested, the supporters bar is open from 7pm and the ticket price includes a hot buffet as well as guest speaker presentation which will be co hosted by stadium manager Ian Holtby, and don't be surprised if you bump into a couple of other former fans favourites who have worn the quarters.
Come and support the Gas in business!

What a fantastic idea!...great to know that Pritch is doing well!....when I first looked at the email address as above I read it as Contra@band!, must be the Pirate in me!..... It's an idea that was created a long time ago TG, its only now that the BRFC gate keeper has changed that it has been presented to the FC and warmly welcomed, we work closely with the club. Wael, Steve and Ian Holtby have been first class in encouraging and supporting our initiative, and we work closely together with Ian on a regular basis. We are the only FC in the UK to have a business network that has an online directory of businesses that are run/owned by fans of the club using a web based directory and social media to connect with the wider fan base, with over 750 fully vetted followers via Facebook, Linkedin and Twitter this is shaping up to be a successful venture that can only add to the clubs credibility, and more importantly make sure we retain identity via local businesses in Bristol and surrounding areas, as the club enter a new and exciting era, which is sure to attract wider corporate interest. As a network we only ever have meetings and presentations at the Mem, this in turn helps increase non match day revenue for the FC, when we hold events such as the evening with Pritch we then contribute further to the club via initiatives such as kit or ball sponsorship, and business members gain new business leads and fans add revenue towards the clubs future by attending open events. We currently have 15 registered members in the first month, and a current list of 6 new members to register this week, our aim is for 100 Gas owned businesses or senior employees who are Gasheads to become members prior to moving into the new stadium, where we will be looking to purchase a permanent box (or 2) to ensure that fan owned business will always have a combined long term place in the future of the club. As for Pritch, he hasn't changed much, a top, top bloke, doesn't want an appearance fee genuinely coming along to support the night and have a chance to meet Gasheads in attendance again, Boris, Tilly and a few more familiar faces will also be there on the night.

I tell you who didn't enjoy an evening with David Pritchard - any left winger who turned up at Twerton Park on a Tuesday night between 1994 and 1996....

Big thanks to those who attended this evening, two great speakers and a decent all round evening, Pritch is IMO one of the most honest and straight talking footballers iv'e heard, great to see big Julian Alsop attend as well, great insights about C*ty and John Ward wanting him back then, turning the move down with a big pay rise, loads of great stories, especially Ronnie Mauge, top night, cant wait for the next one.

Are these evenings purely for the business community or is it open for anyone to attend if you were to pay the entrance fee ?

Yes very good night - didn't know about City's approach for him and a pity he didn't reveal more about that season we blew up under Hollloway. Great insight into the relationships within the club though. Thanks to those for organising it and I will definitely attend another event

Thanks to those for organising it and I will definitely attend another event I'm glad you enjoyed it LG, and agree it would have been good to have had more time to dig into that season where the players reared up on promotion and didn't show at Ninian Park at the end of the season, I think that night could have run for the night into the early hours, spoke to Pritch after and he said he could have easily carried on, the fact that he was at a breakfast meeting at quarter to six in Wolverhampton yesterday morning, drove down to talk for free and drove home at 11 last night speaks volumes of how he still feels about the club, will add you to our distribution list and newsletter for our next event.
