Only been the once, late 80s lost 4-1. All I remember about the game is that VJ got some stick from the home fans for not returning the ball after a throw in, after a player had been injured (The same thing that some Rovers fans still hold a grudge over Notts County about!)

Peter Beagrie tore us apart in that 4-1 defeat, showed us what wing play was all about.

I've only been to Bramall Lane once, but tomorrow will be the first time to see Rovers there.
My only visit was on 8th November 2003, when the Blades beat Burnley 1:0.
The Unitedites were in good voice, especially when singing about greasy chip butties.
The line-ups included some players who have since become more familiar to us; for the Blades: Phil Jagielka, Stuart McCall and Paul Peschisolido; for the Clarets: Brian Jensen, (who produced world-class saves 11 years later at Bury to deny two Matt Harold goals and the point which might have stopped us dropping out of the League. He also got injured in the battle of Mansfield that featured three dismissals (the Rovers one rescinded), a late Matty Taylor winner, and even a pre-match bloody nose for a Gashead behind the goal from a wayward Matty Taylor practice shot).
The only other memory from the game at Bramall Lane was the fact that Burnley played in different colours in each half. The referee amazingly allowed the game to start wearing the same coloured shirt as the Burnley team. He corrected his mistake at half-time...by making Burnley change!

Been there once, on my way to do the 92. It wasn't a Rovers game and so I got bored easily. The ground from the outside doesn't, to me, have any character being rather box like, inside it's better. Worth the trip for the 'fountain' outside the station, but I recall the trip to the ground was through a run down area.

Second Chelsea lad has arrived at the Mem to-day. He will be impressed with to-morrow night.Hope the other lad starts. NB.Ran the line there in 1992 when Leeds won the first Div title.Liverpool stuffed Man U the same afternoon so although we didn't realise it at the time our game was the decider. My final ever game. (Actually I received as SOS later in the week to dash to stockport County as a linesman had dropped out but sounds a lot nicer to say I'd finished on a title decider!!)

4-1 defeat early in 1987/88 season. Remember a police horse almost standing on my foot and a friendly South Yorkshire policeman shouting at me for being in the way.

I live/ work in Sheffield. I was wondering if anyone knows if the home section is 'all ticket' as well as Gas section.
I'd quite like to stroll down to the ground to watch the game.

I'm assuming every match is all ticket on account there are no turnstile operators. Hopefully you can buy a ticket on the day..

Else we'd have to say 'All tickets must be bought in advance and none will be available in the day" every time we refer to an all ticket match. I don't know for sure, but I'd be astonished if there weren't home tickets available today. I wouldn't be entirely surprised if there were still away tickets on sale too, assuming they've not all been sold. Good luck!

As you can buy away tickets today (about an hour left methinks?), I'm assuming you can also buy home tickets too? It's just unclear up until whether they accept walk ups.

Blades' site: "Supporters purchasing tickets will be allocated 150 Loyalty Points". Now there's an idea!
