Presumably that means the Oxford game will be moved to the Sunday? Then Bolton to the Wednesday?

Presumably that means the Oxford game will be moved to the Sunday? Then Bolton to the Wednesday? There's no way one fixture would cause that much disruption. Last season teams played on a saturday and then had fixtures on sky in the JPT played on a monday. Thursday games then playing again on a Saturday is also common when TV is involved.

Can't we swap the Bolton and Swindon fixtures?
I'm sure all fans wouldn't mind that!??

I wouldn't say it was common, granted it has happened. Playing two games in less than 48 hours is quite ridiculous though.

Why would Oxford want to play us on Sunday and then 2 days later on the Tuesday against Fleetwood away. I can't understand why Sky can't show the game on Tuesday or Wednesday, they don't show midweek champions league or Premier league which left huge gaps in there midweek schedule last season. The only plus point is we get two extra days to recover from the away trip at Scunthorpe, and at least the 2 games after Cardiff in the mini fixture pile up are home.

Think anyone who thinks we're going to play Thursday night (potentially 120 mins + pens) and then Saturday afternoon is going to be a little disappointed.

My birthday on the 12th, so as it stands I have a Rovers home game either side of my birthday. What a great gift.

Think we should vote to leave the Football League and then we can control our own fixtures! What's that you say? We've done something like that recently? Can't say I recall it. Maybe we should do it all over again.

Its home Thursday, Saturday. Could be worse Play Thursday. Dont train Friday, just go in talk about Saturdays game and then play Saturday I'd rather they play a team of trialists against Cardiff than go into a League game having not trained.

Last season we played AFC Wimbledon away on sat 26th December and then 48 hours later on Monday 28th December we were home to Orient, it proves it can be done, and i'm pretty sure i remember DC saying post Wimbledon that the players would be in on the Sunday for training.

Presumably that means the Oxford game will be moved to the Sunday? Then Bolton to the Wednesday? Sky Sports scheduled a Thursday match in the League Cup first round last season. Doncaster Rovers played Leeds United on Thursday 13th August 2015, taking the game to extra time before winning on penalties. Two days later, on the Saturday, Doncaster got a 0:0 draw at Wigan. They then played out another 0:0 draw at home to Southend on Wednesday 19th August (not Tuesday 18th). Doncaster usually play home midweek matches on a Tuesday, so it appears that they might have been successful in pushing the fixture back by a day. Following the Thursday game at Doncaster, Leeds’ next two games took place on the Sunday (a goalless draw at Reading) and the Wednesday (the 2:2 draw at BCFC 1982 Ltd). In 2013 and 2014, the Sky games were on the Monday, two days after the League games on the Saturday. In 2012, League Cup first round games were played before the League season started.
