Does anyone know what colour away kits Rovers wore in the late 60s early 70s when the home shirt was the blue with white trim ?.

The only one I can remember is the red and white stripes that laughing gas mentioned. I think a red away kit might be a hard sell these days

I think Rovers were back in quarters by the Brighton 8-2 game,so couldn't have worn quarters or stripes against them. I wondered what the away kit was before that ?...I remember Rovers wearing white shirts and red shorts at Shrewsbury.

Correct the blue clashed but as we were on the big Match next day ITV asked us to change as two sets of stripes and dark shorts on b/w TV not good.

Red and white striped shirts, black shorts and red socks ala Southhampton. At Brighton we wore yellow/gold shirts, black shorts and I think white socks.

I remember an evening game Blackburn away early 70's. Bryn Jones came on as sub. His shirt had twice as many stripes as the rest of the team. We were rag bag rovers even then!

It was not an away kit he was wearing but I do remember being fascinated by the vibrancy of Reginald bousenquet's jacket, the first day we had a colour telly. He was reading the news. We had the colour turned up to full! I have never had this fascination again.

Am pretty sure the 73/74 season was the first back in quarters after the blue strip of late 60s early 70s. Must be getting old because can't remember the change away strip!

Not sure if it's already been mentioned, but we did have the Orange shirt, black shorts, black socks for an away strip at some point in that era?! The one we beat Brighton 8-2 in?!

Dude read the thread, don't come in at the end! Nahh f**k that dude, normally involves someone writing an essay & then being quoted a hundred times over. Rather go for the gamble and dive right in!
