JERMAINE Easter is set to stay at Bristol Rovers next season after triggering a clause in his contract.
There has been widespread talk on whether the former Swansea and Crystal Palace striker would be staying at the Memorial Stadium ahead of next season.
But after making 46 appearances and scoring eight goals last term, the 34-year-old is to remain in the blue and white quarters for another season.
The former Welsh international signed for Rovers in January 2015 while they were in the National League but made just five showings after picking up a knee injury which eventually needed surgery.
Easter, who has played 51 games in total for the Pirates, played an integral part in helping Darrell Clarke's side earn promotion to League One this season and featured from the bench in the final game of the season against Dagenham and Redbridge.
With Easter set to be among the ranks next term, that leaves just Chris Lines – a player expected to pen a new deal, Ollie Clarke and Matty Taylor as the figures yet to commit their futures to Rovers.
