Sorry, got that wrong. It was mentioned on another page he was with the players, but he is not it seems. Think his planned trip is totally seperate to the players & setup for his stag before Wael splashed the cash on players. Pity could be helpful if he was uncontactable on a five day bender in Vegas It would have been good, however fingers crossed his stag / wedding preparation means it is impossible for him to speak to Leeds, or at least one phone call no thank you.

DC would be mad to go to Leeds. He has built a team and now has the chance to build a club with BRFC. Those opportunities do not come along very often.

I'd go to North Korea for £1m.

My hope is this a bit of clever contract negotiations from the gaffer - "if leeds want me, shouldn't you be paying me leeds wages to stay?"
If he does go ..... he goes with my blessings and almighty thanks. To succeed where Clough failed? Must be a temptation. No getting away from it - Leeds is a much bigger job than Bristol Rovers, in every way and DC is an ambitious man.
But, I hope he gives it another year because we'll be hard pushed to find a more promising replacement. Although, obviously we would be a very attractive offer to good League 1 standard managers, and with the newfound expertise at the club I would be confident in any option they picked.
No one is bigger than the club.

Whether he's elsewhere in the World on holiday i don't know, but i'm sure Leeds will be aware through contact with his agent where he is and what he's thinking.

Robinson was 1/10 on earlier. Doesn't necessarily mean much. Hope you're right. This would be a real blow for our, Wael's and in my opinion Darryl's ambitions. If it does happen, I don't know if I could dislike Leeds any more than I do now...but I'd give it a go. If he went then Wael and the board would appoint their own man and life would go on. DC has done a great job but lets not lose perspective. He's not irreplaceable and I would back Wael and co. to make the right choice. I can't see him going there though, the club is a complete car crash. I would be interested to know exactly what discussions have taken place regarding transfer targets and playing budgets going forward. That may have some bearing in his decision I would havd thought.

All this bookmaker stuff is total rubbish. Anybody who tries gambling on managers will know this. Chances are that none of the top 5 managers quoted will get the Job. Tell me I'm wrong in 2 weeks time

i think if leeds ask and rovers agree to allow him to talk to leeds he will go,they are still a big club with a good fanbase. we have been promoted 2 years running and there must be a chance were going to struggle this season and as soon as that happens he will be under pressure here and wont be such an attractive target for bigger clubs. the thing that might save us is the obvious fact there chairmans a nutter which i imagine is why robinson turned them down

Isn't it refreshing to have a manager we all want to keep!!
Anyone saying DC would be better staying here than going to somewhere like Leeds is mad though. We need a new ground before we can even look in their general direction.

Well Martinez is available now, I assume Steve Hamer knows him from his Swansea days so would be a good fit Martinez came in long after SH was pushed out of the Swans. DC is going to leave at some stage and in keeping with how Swansea are run it would be comforting to know that BRFC will have a person spec for the next manager, Huw Jenkins at Swansea told previous managers being interviewed for the job how the club expected teams to play, a club ethos if you like, I really do hope Wael has such a plan in place for when DC moves on as he will be leaving a decent legacy.

I really hope how we play is left up to the manager to decide.

I really hope how we play is left up to the manager to decide. I agree that in post, how a team play should be left up to the manager. But before any manager is recruited, I think the club should know its football philosophy and style of play, and should recruit managers who promise something that delivers this 'way we play'. DC has apparently set a precedent, and upon him leaving for Barcalona in three years time, the board should recruit another manager who promises to continue the footballing style that achieved three or four promotions.

I cannot abide Lids and would be happy if they and their Neanderthal following were wiped off the face of the earth. The fact that they seem to be run by a hire them fire them shoot them Mafia psychopath might be our and his saviour here.

I really hope how we play is left up to the manager to decide. Well yes and No. The club (any club) if they are experiencing success wants to carry on so you want to identify the right manager to continue that in a similar fashion
I mean Swansea can't remember in what order Martinez, Sousa, Rodgers, Laudrup and they all played similarly. Obviously there would be differences, but appointing a Pulis type in the middle of that and changing what had got them so far, would that have disrupted thing, would it have been more of a risk
Isn't the idea to have some sort of continuity through the club

I agree Sprout. The boards job is to recruit the right manager, not to straitjacket them.
