Brand new sports show starts on BBC Radio Bristol next Monday with Gas PA man Nick Day, & radio co-host Neil Maggs.
Nick & Maggsy already host a community radio show on BCfm but will move to the BBC as well during the Summer.
The radio show is an irreverent look at local, national and community sport. A bit like Top Gear meets Soccer AM.
Have a listen....94.9fm, DAB or Internet

Lets hope he doesn't play any of the dreary records he plays at the Mem I don't believe Nick has ever played a record at the Mem, but I might be wrong. Certainly he doesn't play most of them. He's the chap out on the pitch with the microphone.

Lets hope he doesn't play any of the dreary records he plays at the Mem That's a bit subjective, innit? Personally I'd ban marches, War of the Worlds and TV police series type soundtracks, heavy metal, the Stones, Paul McCartney and Queen, and go for Nat King Cole's Goodnight Irene

I'd happily be the club to stop all recorded music in the stadium. Live on occasion, great, but there's far to much recorded noise in stadia. I'd rather hear the supporters en masse.

Hopefully the new owners will do something to change the pre/half time/post match music. That godawful tote end boys song would definitely not feature in it! Fair enough there's room for some classic rock etc but maybe get someone under the age of 60 to select the tunes. If the club want to attract more young fans then hi ho silver lining isn't really gonna cut it. Just another area where the old regime were screaming AMATEUR at us!

That's your opinion, which you're entitled to, but its rubbish. Nobody ever goes to football for the music (if they do, WHY?) and as long as what they play isn't offensive then it really couldn't matter less. And the Tote End Boys song is alright, in my opinion.

The music's fine, we want upbeat singalongs which we were very late on in the season. The only thing that annoyed me were some stupid comments, mainly the "can I borrow some money" to wael at his first match as owner.
Still want Keith vaile (spelling).

I can't believe I've seen someone come out with this. You must be in a very small minority. Personally I think it's the best contemporary football song I've heard. I also think it stands up as a great song and tune in its own right, even if you take away the football context.

It's a beautifully crafted song, manages to namecheck many Rovers players and evokes memories of Eastville. Hi Ho Silver Lining and Glad All Over should be dropped. Anyway, good luck Nick with your new show. Fair play.

I think the warm up music should be a number of songs merged to form one long warm up and they should include things like "right here..." "Chelsea Dagger" and some tracks from Faithless, Just to get the crowd going. What they play now comes direct from Nick Days granny's record collection. They are either songs to fall asleep to, or on worse days, songs to slit your wrists to. I'm 63 and even I think what we have is old and not fit for a sporting event.
Of course we can also have "special days" So if we have some players from the 70's we can play some 70's music, or a remember Eastville day we can play some Ska, Steams Na Na Hey Hey, and Hey Jude, all good anthems in their day.
Yours DJ NEWBOY
