Hard not to feel for Accrington fans. They've been on a terrific run of form only to balls it up on the final day.
But what a season for Rovers (again!). Getting back up towards where we belong at last. DC will be on the radar of a few clubs now I would think though. Hopefully Wael can convince him to stick with us.
Well done you blue boys, UTG!

Just wanted to say congratulations. Have been following your season and has been hard not develop green eyes as was so close to being us. But you are top club with class fans, meet a few on my travels again this year and were always friendly. A cracking manager too so deserve another promotion. Only wish there was a Bristol derby next year to look forward too.
Hope you can spare a little luck for the Mariners you left behind though. Best of luck in League 1!

Thank you mariner sorry wheels fell off for you. Would much rather we were going up together rather than Oxford. Very best of luck in playoffs and hope we both meet again in L1 next year. Have a soft spot for your club too (in fact all 3 Devon clubs) and lots of friends and relatives who are Mariners too

Face it, last year ended with a lottery. I think many of us wish you all the best after that. I hope the dice roll for your soon. It'll be a great day when we meet again in a higher plane.

Watching Wael after we clinched it, words fail me. The passion and joy all over the ground is incredible and I did tell you we were going up. We threw everything but the kitchen sink at them. Matty missed one that would have been easier to score What a day, what a season. Proud to be Rovers ? You bet. There is a lot more to come UTG

What a numpty I am! Can only blame the transatlantic flight and jetlag for frazzling my brain. Should have said best of luck Mariner for tomorrow. Hope you make it through the lottery that are playoffs and regain your place back in the league

Congratulations Rovers. Feel sorry for Accy all the same. To not score at home for the first league game this season and go from 2nd to 4th in the 92nd minute, by goal difference, on the last day to the Gas who they did the double over must be heart breaking.

Fantastic day. Couldn't drag myself away from ground so only got back to Dorset late. First time in 50 years of supporting gas that I was actually at the match that sealed automatic promotion. 73/74 it was at Southend, missed the 89/90 match, was at Wembley in 2007 and last year but the drama of the day today with Accy missing out was special. I intend to enjoy it and suck in all the atmosphere and linger in the good feeling. I think all the gasheads no longer with us were looking down today and willing the ball into the net at the end. The team were fantastic, even when we went a goal down I felt confident that we would do it because we were playing so well. They never gave up, they never stopped running or trying to find the goal and the subs when they came on all added something. Both Gos and Ellis were really good and Gos brought more composure on the ball and has been really good in last two matches. Easter brought that bit of class when he came on. Today the crowd was fantastic and from my place in the Blackthorn never once stopped shouting and supporting. It would have been easy to get frustrated but that never happened. Well done DC you managed the run in brilliantly, your substitutions have been spot on and your ability to change systems and alter the course of a match is something you don't see in the lower leagues very often. Well done all the players, they have made everyone very proud. There togetherness, ability to come back from goals behind and their excellent disciplinary record are all aspects to be proud of. Saying all these things and I haven't even mentioned Wael! Today is a very special day for Bristol Rovers. I hope we all enjoy it. UTG!

I do feel a bit sorry for Accy, but at least we don't have to thank Wycombe at all, that would stick in the throat especially as I live close to Wycombe. ..

Having just watched a recorded version of that Channel 5 show, particularly the featured Acc game, blimey. Oldie, if you read this, please drop a box of chocolates round to Stevenage. I feel (within an obvious limit) for Accrington: atb to them for the play-offs. As we part company with them, can I also just say 1. Bloody Wycombe, again. 2. They didn't matter. Oldie, please send the bill for the chocolates to Wycombe. I've spent a ridiculous amount of time looking at that league table. PS: spooky that we thought a draw against Stevenage had mucked it up for us; bottom end of the table, and they rocked serious boats.

Yes we do have to thank Stevenage but tbh we did it due to the efforts of BRFC. DC managed the run in brilliantly, one game at a time and then move on to the next project. When that goal went in at the end and the realisation that Accy had drawn meant a collective outpouring of sheer joy took place. Last year I always felt more relief that we had got out of jail this time it was just happiness and elation instead of the phew! we did it feeling of last year. UTG!
