I remember the machines on railway stations that you could buy a bar of Fry's five boys from! My mum worked at Fry's on the line that made five boys.....I never thought to ask where it got it's name from other than there were 5 boys on the label but I do have a vague recollection of eating it

The highest number of online viewers I noticed was 1,080.
Not bad for a reserve team game. Keith Brookman mentioned he was expecting around 200. There were about 200 at the match.

Nice of Keith to read out the many messages that were sent in. Especially nice that he passed on birthday greetings to Drew Peacock. In fact he read out Drew's name several times, even after he'd been told he'd been had as if to prove he had read it out fine!

I was there last night and it made me appreciate reserve / youth games I'd been to in the past. I really miss those kind of matches and I know its financially bla bla bla but the club are missing a trick.
Competitive matches are useful for fringe players and coaching squad o monitor progress. Bring back the Combination league!
Last night: What an entertaining game played in right spirit, with no time wasting tactics, diving, play acting, ref baiting. A high tempo end to end at times and physically challenging for some (Fallon).
Interesting that a few of the goals came from counter attacks.
Some good performances, especially from their number 7, 14(huge fella) & 26....and from our Ryan Broom, I liked Danny Greenslade, and most notably JAKE GOSLING whom was simply brilliant. This kinda role is what we need in our first team mid. Literally danced through their defence for Mehew's goal and was everywhere. My m o m.
Ok, not exactly a Sreve192 review but hope you got a flavour of the eve.

Shameful that Rovers only posted this at the last moment. It's been on the FGR site for weeks, as has the schedule on the Gloucestershire FA site. As a result I think the attendance was lower than for many similar games I have watched; and there was probably a majority of FGR fans. When I rang the club in the morning they initially didn't even know a match was on!

I went to one last season that was called off two hours before kick off because a team appealed at the last moment.

I remember the machines on railway stations that you could buy a bar of Fry's five boys from! I once, very briefly, had a job making those machines - put all the bits together, test with a 5p piece, only to find the thing didn't work. I stuck it for all of two days.

Kind of makes me feel old when I think this was a cup that the Rovers & City played every season and would attract 20K plus. With you on that one KP! The years roll by. Bet you will mention Bristol Boys next! Whatever did happen to that set up? Anyone know (or remember!!) My brother played for Bristol boys. I trailed with Bristol Parkway ( Rovers youth) and Bristol boys but wasn't good enough. It really did hurt at the time but they were right. I remember both Gary Penrice and a guy called Martyn Burt, both good as kids, being told they were too small. There was a lot of talent in my age group. Chase schoo for boys, had a superbly talented team and full of players who joined pro clubs. I remember when Ollie, Phil Kite and Keith Curle would be out on the town as young Rovers players. They seemed inseparable in those days. The biggest waste of talent, for me, was Shaun Pinker. He went to Arsenal and got caught out drinking and on the herb, went to Notts Forest and the same happened. I still maintain he had the sweetest left foot that I've seen in any of the in crowd of that period. Such a bloody waste

In fact he read out Drew's name several times, even after he'd been told he'd been had as if to prove he had read it out fine! Maybe he just found droopy cock as hilarious as everyone else. Maybe. He seemed pretty innocent and oblivious to the whole thing the first few times he mentioned the name. Then someone off-mic must have told him what had happen as he said "But I didn't say that, I said Drew Peacock." Then said the name again shortly afterwards, followed by "I wouldn't have said that, it's a family show, you know." - You're left thinking stop there Keith; you're just making it worse for yourself! I guess he's not the first and won't be the last. Nick Day has been done on the dodgy names a few times, and it happens on radio, both local and national.
